According to the Supra app, my car sits at 116 miles... a combination of cold weather and snow has kept it garaged for almost all of the two weeks I've owned it. Heck, I have yet to put gas in it.
When I first put my deposit down in July last year my dealer gave me I guess what you could call a "build sheet", but that wasn't "my car"... it was just a sheet showing the options and pricing they were preferencing for. I was also given sales paperwork showing the agreed upon pricing for when...
I noticed the "colors in batches" thing with the Stratosphere blue cars earlier. It seemed like a whole gaggle of manual blues arrived in my area all at once. Then a handful of yellows (mine included). Now looking at Toyota's site it appears the next wave will be black.
I've owned several cars that had paint that looked very different in different lighting conditions. The car I just traded in on this Supra was in "Galaxy Gray Metallic", and that paint could look light silver in bright sunlight, looked dark grey most of the time, but looked purplish at night...
I used the same phone to take all the pictures so its a difference between location and lighting. Direct bright sunlight in a clear, cloudless sky around noon on the day I picked up the car when the car was in a very "bright" environment surrounded by light colored things... and indirect...
I finally got my gloss black tips installed today, I think they look worlds better than the silver tips on a car that has virtually no other silver accents.
I had to raise mine up one or two ticks as it was getting cut off at the bottom. I'm not sure you can move it side to side though, I only remember seeing the ability to raise or lower it and for some weird reason rotate it right or left.
I also find the HUD to be not terrible... however this is...
My 2023 finally arrived this past weekend, I picked it up Saturday... and now we have a big snow storm barreling down on us. I was only able to drive it home from the dealership and put it in the garage.
Hopefully once the snow comes and goes, and we get a clear day above 40 degrees I can take...
From my best guess mine went from build order to delivered in about 2 1/2 months, which isn't that long when you consider it had to be built then cross an ocean and half the continent to get to my dealer.
Tom Petty told us the waiting is the hardest part, but from my experience the hardest part...
Just got home from picking up the Supra. Transaction was smooth as glass, and even got what I wanted for my trade.
For those who are interested, a short version of my path to this car for future reference:
- Contacted dealer in July, placed deposit and preference was put in
- Dealer found a...
Stratosphere blue looks good, but I wish it was a few shades lighter like BMW's Laguna Seca Blue.
I pick up my Supra at 11am, I'll try to get pics of it in the showroom.
I imagine any of them at sane prices are already spoken for, but I bet there are still a handful out there with five digit markups waiting for the right sucker.
Well, good things come to those who wait... just got the email from my dealer that my Supra has arrived and is going through predelivery setup. I'm scheduled to go pick it up tomorrow morning barring any last minute flukes.
My VIN last 4 digits are 6990.
The tracker site seems to work kind of inconsistently. Some days it works fine for me, other days I get the "oops" message. Some days like today I get the "oops" message, then reload the site and it works.
I've always felt the lighter colors show off the lines of the Supra the best, but I agree that if you are going to pay to have it wrapped you should wrap it in a non-factory color. And the factory seems to ignore green a lot.
We shall see... also remember there is a difference between the car physically arriving at the dealership on the carrier and it being ready to drive home.
I've been subconsciously adding a few days in my head to whatever day I get told to allow the dealership's one single Supra certified tech...
Good to hear that yours is finally on site. I'm hoping mine arrives before Saturday so I can pick it up then, but it may be next week.
I checked the tracker this morning and it shows mine in "G" status, giving a new window of 1/17 - 1/23, which more or less aligns with what my dealer said...
I've sort of stopped checking the status again, the whole thing seems to be the roughest of rough estimates. There is another Supra headed to another local dealer showing nearly the same delivery window. If the cars are coming from the same hub I imagine they might even be on the same carrier...
