For one, RCF buyer is older. Lexus in general appeals to the older buyer. There is nothing particularly youthful in Lexus's lineup. You can find plenty of anecdotes of young people buying a new Lexus, but they're pretty few and far between. Chances are someone getting out of an RCF is going...
People cross shop everything, but IMO RCF and Supra appeal to two very different buyers. I don't think RCF pricetag plays into the price of the Supra at all.
Lexus still doesn't get it with the auto transmissions. Or perhaps they get it, but they know they're cheaping out. Instantly my interest in the RCF was diminished. Even on their $100,000 LC, they still can't justify a dual clutch. Makes me think that Supra will inevitably be a slushbox just...
The pricetag CALTY was given for the FT1 was a car from $50-$60k.
I don't expect this car will cost less than that.
If it ends up being some 300-350 horsepower Focus RS competitor, it'll be hard to justify charging something higher than the $40s. We'll see.
Even with 400 horsepower, for over $50k, it's going to have to be a real lightweight plus come with a large side of unicorn tears to be something compelling.
They'll definitely sell a handful. No doubt about it. But there's just too many other more compelling choices in the price range. And...
Really hope this A70TTR guy is a fraud. Because if sub-400 horsepower is true, with a pricetag north of $50,000.00, for a Toyota, who is going to buy this.
Aside from specs, price, launch date, a pretty important one for me:
Will customers be able to custom order a car from the factory? Or will we just be stuck with whatever the distributor sends to the dealer?
If I have to wait for gulf states toyota to send a car to a local dealer with my...
MAGA
But yeah this thread has great shitshow potential.
Car guys in general tend to have more money and are more likely to be conservative. But the liberal car guys tend to be louder.
Fun video to watch.
Talking about how the original Supra didn't have a lot of power and talking Chris Harris's statement about quality vs quantity of performance, while you blast off in your heavily modded Supra though... a little odd ;)
I have no doubt that Toyota has the ability to make an...
