CA with emissions and vehicles overall is a huge slow moving cash cow machine for the auto industry and state of CA.
New vehicles purchased in CA have 6 years of "SMOG ABATEMENT FEE" which is around $20-30 must be purchased new in CA though, basically if you can afford a new car every 6 years...
Not racing so car doesn't need to move
I check it twice daily, sit down and have a few moments with the car, you do what you need to besides I start it up and move it a bit every now and again not like I just ignore it. If I go out of I town I put it in storage
I wrench the car right in the...
County actually gave me a notice they are going to tow for being parked in the same spot forever, only been about a year or so lol what the fuck man had to find a new dead-end spot to park, just leave me alone damn
Interesting setup seeing it in the car now, looks good.
Still have heat/AC?
Race-harness on the street gets old fast and without a helmet and hans device even a minor low speed tap that only breaks a taillight can cause injuries when not properly harnessed. The tendency to wear the harness...
I don't have any updates, probably not going to be on track or have anything solid until sometime in 2025 not really going anywhere but I work slow and get distracted easily.
Switched to a planned non-op tag that only cost $20 vs $700/year. Track car only now, have been for a while but made it official with the state and get to save money and not worry about CA smog patrol and these high insurance rates.
Looks nice so far, I have a similar setup fully gutted caged car and it weighs around ~3000lbs with a empty car, no fuel or driver. 3300lbs for driver+fuel on paper for competitions. There is still room for more weight savings, doors and glass are heavy along with wiring no longer used, lighter...
I stopped using harrys had some issues with it starting on grid and gave up on it, I don't remember if i setup data but I was using it with a 25ghz GPS unit and was ok when it worked, was accurate to my offical laps that get tracked with a mylaps timer
Yea I am taking forever to get this car finished still have so much on the todo list that I put on hold or just do not have time for currently
The only event I really want to try and make this year is the san pedro hillclimb in Baja later in the year if I have the time
I am dealing with this problem right now, my box is just not working. No canbus signals, injectors not working would make a lot of sense that the box is just defective still waiting for support to get back on this problem but not looking good
You can I did it for a season running race gas all year with a map targeting around 520WHP with a daw turbo, only problem I had was the oem speed limiter starts activating around 155 and limits you to 163
At a very high level I just want some knobs and switches to select a map, adjust or turn off traction/abs on track and have a cool racecar dash.
Also way over the whole locked ecu where I still do not get everything I need and costs a small fortune to enter
have a build thread going here
scs delta gdi 6 ecu w/cantcu with Aim display in dash - factory harness gets replaced none of the OEM electronics will work and will be removed including the electric power steering getting replaced with hydraulic rack
Appreciate the offer maybe if i purchase xhp license to test with but i am replacing the oem bosch ecu and tcu entirely, will have full tuning control over my engine and transmission - beyond just xhp flash - already have stage1 upgraded transmission never bothered with xhp
quite a bit...
I ran time trial in TT2 this past season with nasa car was (3320lb comp weight 520HP e30 mix, KWv3 (ok not great), stoptech str-60 front caliper, hawk dtc-70s, the car is fast only reason I built it for more is because I am crazy and want to drive up mountains. There were not many competitors in...
It was cool to meet those Toyota dudes there - One of them had a yellow supra a91-cf but I didn't get a chance to look more at it when I noticed. It was parked in a separate area from the section they were in
I asked them about removing the 163mph speed limiter without tuning but was not given...
