Ahhh... ok, so the system dynamically adjusts the pressure all the time and it wasn't anymore, because of the failure, basically defaulting to a high pressure state. Ok makes me feel better. Thanks for the explanation.
I just went thru the oil pump issue with my 2020, there's a thread on that, but wanted to start a new one and get some feedback on what the dealer wrote on the paper work.
I have no idea when the oil pump issue started. When I pulled the car out of winter storage about 3 days later I get a low...
And final update..... Got my car back today, all fixed up with the new oil pump. Two weeks and 2 days total. All done under warranty. Work done by the dealers BMW shop.
I did the oil level check when I got home from work, about 45 minute drive, worked perfect.
I was worried about maybe losing...
Ya I'm going to just use the OEM lug bolts. Soon as I get my car back I'll make an appointment to get the wheels installed. Still waiting for the oil pump to be replaced, it's been 2 weeks now.
Another update. The dealer got the oil pump in but Toyota didn't have the bolts needed. This dealer has a bunch of dealerships and a BMW dealership is one of them. So they called their BMW dealer and they were able to get the correct parts/bolts.
Then while talking to the BMW tech they decided...
Perfect. Thank you @Traxion and @digdeep0169. This is the information I needed. Thanks for the explanations and links and pics. I'm not doing spacers or anything so I'll just have to decide which way I want to go, stay with the OEM lug bolts or go studs and lug nuts.
My Supra is still in the...
Hey guys, sorry if this info is out there, but I couldn't find what I was looking for. Found some old threads with broken links and conflicting info.
I recently purchased the WedsSport RN-05M Wheels. I got the 19x9J offset 32 and the 19x10J offset 40 wheels that were specifically made for the...
I'm glad you mentioned the extra warranty you can buy. I had completely forgot I purchased the Toyota Extra Care Platinum which is 8 years and 75,000 miles, and it covers the power train. Until you mentioned that I completely forgot. Of course that was 5 years ago, I usually can't remember what...
Another GR man, an 86 and a Supra, nice. I have the Supra and a GR Corolla. The west herr I went to is near Rochester, I guess Greece suburb, idk all the names of the towns up that way, lol.
The service advisor told me the guy who will work on my Supra is trained on the Supra and owns a Gr...
Mine was built 9/19, I bought it 7/20. I have 34,200 miles on it now. I only have 2 months left on my power train warranty so I'm glad this came up now instead of 3 months from now. But this is the first issue I've had in 4 years and 10 months of ownership, so I'm happy with that.
I tried...
Another update:
The dealer talked with a Toyota engineer today. They agree it's the oil pump and I will get the new metal internals oil pump under warranty.
They had to order the part and it'll take about a week to get here and then it's a 10 hour job to complete the swap. (so 2 days) Hopefully...
Sorry never saw this. Currently my car is at the West Herr Toyota. I've tried Batavia Toyota, Bob Johnson, and West Herr. While I've had some issues with West Herr with other cars they have always done my Supra right, so I went there again. Only time I had an issue with the Supra with them was...
My 2020, built 9/19 is at the dealer right now for this issue. My car only has 34K miles on it. I started another thread 1-2 weeks ago when my oil level check wouldn't complete. Stops at 16%. In my thread there were several people who also had the issue and many knew exactly what my issue was...
I have the same issue in a 2020, built 9/19, 34,000 miles, 2 months left on power train warranty, going in the dealer next Tuesday.
In the US I have never heard of anyone getting a loan thru a bank or manufacturer canceled because of aftermarket mods. In the US if you have a loan the financing...
Ya opposite ends. I've actually never really been to the Hudson Valley area. Too close to NYC, lol, but I bet there are some nice rural areas and some great roads in the Hudson Valley.
Finally got the appointment scheduled. I live in a rural area and the closest dealer only has one tech that took the Supra training and can work on it. Since he's always doing other stuff I usually have to wait 2-3 weeks or more just to get into the dealer. I call them to make an appointment and...
Ok thank you everyone who replied. This is the first issue in 5 years and I hate going to the dealer. I've only been to the Toyota dealer for maintenance for the Supra, for maintenance on my 2024 GR Corolla, and for yearly inspections and almost every time I have an issue with them. They only...
