Believe it or not the reason why the Cayman GT4 had horrible gear ratios was that it was tuned on the Nürburgring Nordschliefe. Those straights and high speed corners required longer gearing.
The Thundernight Purple on the 2-Series is beautiful.
Some other ideas I have are:
- Royal Sapphire Pearl from the A80 Supra
- Structural Blue from the LC500
- Nori Green from the LC500 and other Lexus models
- Hakone Green from the 86 Hakone Edition
Fair enough, but there was still a lot of hype when the GR Supra was out. It's now the Z's turn.
Also the Z just got out of its stop-sale period so we need to give it a bit of a break, people are now starting to get them haha.
The way Toyota has operated with their sports cars (with the exception of the Celica and the 86's) was that they were relatively bespoke and also were produced in relatively lower numbers anyways. Also, no matter how much we love the GR Supra, it will not generate as much demand as the perennial...
Toyota's sales targets were 5k annually. For 2022 to be largely an uneventful year for the GR Supra (with the changes only being the A91-CF edition as well as improving the infotainment system) and for Toyota to still nail their sales targets (well, they were short of it by a whopping 48 cars)...
They hate Toyota, not surprised.
EDIT: I read the article, and even then there are a boatload of inaccuracies. Built in Germany? SMH.
Also we have gone so much in depth about the development of the sister cars and yet they gloss over it. The Toyota wins, but they make weird criticisms to make...
ETA on one of the cars has to be in like what... 1-2 years at this point right?
They need to replace the RC F GT3 for the 2024 IMSA season. Lexus hasn't shown any signs of wanting to build another RC (yet) so it has to be the LFR? Or will the IMSA effort be done under Toyota now?
Does the Toyota H8909 idle as high as the Mercedes-Benz PU106B Hybrid? Also I think idling shouldn't be as big of an issue given that the power unit is in electric mode at low speeds. They could implement that in their road cars.
I'm still extremely burned over the fact that the GR Super Sport...
The Toyota H8909 3.5L turbo-hybrid engine is a whole other monster. That thing is capable hitting north of 900 horsepower (but is only capped at 670).
But the engine that was in the GR Super Sport was the TS050 Hybrid 2.4L which made 1000 horsepower. Could they use that? That would be an...
