I just got my car on Saturday (March 2nd). I started looking in November. I used the tracker spreadsheet, I checked it a couple times a day and looked for new allocations to show up. I then called those dealers to see if they would sell to me at MSRP for a refundable deposit. Took me about a...
I'll answer my own question. Finally got the car on Saturday. Took the side decal off when I got home. Was very easy to remove. Heated the edge up a little bit and then it just pulled right off with steady pressure. No residue or anything.
Slightly off topic, I'm taking delivery any day now of my 45th. I don't like the side decal. I want to take it off, but I cant really find any info on doing so. How removable does it look? I found general advice on using a hair dryer and goo gone to remove decals. Does that....look like it...
They didn't order the car, because they can't order the car. At best they can 'request' a car. They basically have nothing until Toyota gives them an allocation, which may have nothing in common with their request. If you don't have a deposit down on an actual allocation, you are just on a...
I keep seeing the WRX + Supra pairing pop up. I think there is something to it. I think its a pretty good pair!
I got an allocation after less than 2 weeks of looking by calling a ton of dealers, but specifically the ones that just got new allocations on the spreadsheet. I also decided to pay...
There are new allocations every few days according to the tracking spreadsheet/API. You can view the 'data added' column to get an idea of the cadence.
While I'm waiting to take delivery of my Supra in mid-January, I am trying to figure out my wheel/tire situation. I'm going to run separate street/track sets. What I haven't decided is which set will be which. One factor in my choice of street tire/wheel will be if the speedo can be corrected if...
They are on there, for example VIN WZ1DB0G04RW062868 is manual. You can tell some of them are manual from the packages if they have " Driver Assist Package (For MT only) ". You can't rely on that as a filter though, since not all the manuals have that package.
There are basically zero cars on the lot that aren't sold before they arrive, so you have to wait no matter what. The problem with paying over MSRP is it doesn't necessarily mean you get your car any sooner. I dunno why I would pay a non-refundable deposit for 5K over to be on a waitlist, when I...
I preferred to get a 3.0 premium, but it seemed like most of the cars being produced are 45th anniversary. I checked the sheet each day for new additions and called those dealers. I got an allocation for a 45th MT in white @MSRP after about a week and half of looking. I called probably 50...
You are looking at the 'GR Supra 3.0 Premium MT' tab? I don't think the 2024 MTs will be on that tab, they will be mixed in with the 'GR Supra 3.0 Premium' tab. I think this is an artifact of how Toyota labeled them, similar to how the 'manual' filter on the site only filters for 2023 and not...
Yeah, I do wonder if I would like it more in person. Same with the orange, which I don't like in the toyota.com pictures. But, it looks better in your picture. Looks much more red.
Since you've got one, what does the mount look like?
I asssumed it would be something like that, though I would like more specifics. Even just a close up picture of the wing attachment to the trunk would help.
Yeah, I'm willing to be patient, though I do see stories on here about people still waiting after a year. It would be a lot easier to just settle in for a long wait if I could be 'guaranteed' I would eventually get exactly what I want.
Question for those few of you who have taken delivery of a 45th anniversary edition. How easy does it seem it would be to remove the wing, or at least reuse the mount points for a different wing?
I'm shopping for a MT Supra right now and I would prefer a regular 3.0 premium. But, it seems like...
Wow, both of those approaches are looking impressive. I'm looking forward to the challenge of leveraging your work. It was too easy with my WRX, just got uhaul to put a hitch on and got a hitch carrier.
Wow, that's commitment! Do you think you could fit one wheel on the seat if you didn't remove it? I'm thinking one on the seat, one in the back and two on the roof in a suction mounted basket.
