I agree. Mine was able to rev as much as I wanted and had no hesitation at all in P the few times I did it, even with a cold engine once, go figure LOL!
They don’t have a clue and we couldn’t make it happen at the dealer.
Happened to me twice in 5K miles. Felt like the car was not sure if 1st gear was engaged and took like 2-3 seconds to figure that out. My car is stored for the winter, but I plan to do some test in April to verify a few...
It did on mine, car was sluggish after selecting D, almost like it ran on 3 cylinders and misfired, putting the pedal to the floor did nothing, almost stalled and rev were under 1000 rpm for a good 2 seconds and then power came back.
I don’t give a shit if the car won’t rev in P or N, but when...
Me neither, but did it when I pulled out of a parking, Supra almost stalled and incoming traffic had to hit their brakes because Supra didn’t want to move for a good 2-3 seconds.
Almost got Tboned because of this issue last summer. Opened a case with Toyota Canada and completed a Canada Transport defect complaint form.
I think you should all advise the NHTSA of this SAFETY issue. Otherwise dealers won’t do shit because they know nothing about our cars. They can try...
The more I search and read about similar issues that happened before, the more I think it might be related to a transmission programming glitch. Happened to ZF 9 speed transmission in FCA vehicles. Pretty sure your car is running as it should! ;)
You have never answer a question that I asked you, so why would you now care to answer?? Who was the one whining about being called names? LMFAO!!
But It’s ok, don’t feel obliged to answer, you can go, everything will be alright, we will all be fine without you cheering everything is working as...
Thought you were gone, couldn’t resist huh? Again no answer... Do everyone a favor and just leave this thread like you said you would. At least stand by what you said.
For my part I am still having a normal conversation, having a normal conversation doesn’t mean agreeing with each other! I wonder who the princess really is?
Like I said you do assume and extrapolate a lot of things. You make me think of a religious fanatic that can’t think by themselves and...
Agree to disagree and I am very glad you are not working for the NHTSA. What was barely an inconvenience for you was considered dangerous and led to many recalls for many brands. I don’t know why but I’d rather stand by the NHTSA judgment than yours.
Are you even able to figure out that it can...
What you have experienced in your car was judged abnormal and dangerous by the NHTSA in numerous cases that led to recalls for safety issues. I’m just trying to get a clear statement from Toyota about this issue.
NHTSA set a legal precedent for issues almost identical to what you have...
@Dannyvandelft
If for you, having no power at all, bogging and almost stalling is normal because the manual say you might not get FULL power in the first 30 sec of driving, you clearly extrapolate on what is stated in the manual. I didn’t read anywhere « no power at all and stalling feeling »...
You are a real smart ass aren’t you. I had plenty of space to pull out in traffic. It’s just that the driver behind me wasnt expecting a brand new Supra to almost stall in front of him.
I think I am going to put a sticker on the rear bumper saying «Don’t push! This car can lose power and...
