If you have a second car that is a daily, then go for it. Less miles put on the Supra. I have the Supra as my daily, but I try to take Ubers, walk or ride a bike to put less miles on it for the issues that I'm starting to see. If it is in your budget as well and it won't break the bank then give...
That's better than what I bought mine for. I bought mine for 58 minus taxes all over the place. Even for the new ones next year it would be expensive like the GRMN or GT. If that is true that it might be out?
To your question, it's a yes and no. If you can get at least 3-5 grand under hopefully 5, and want to deal with some headaches because of it being a first gen then sure. The car is fun, Toyota is trying to deal with some recalls like i.e (software bugs, head lights on some cars, rear backup...
I even tried driving at the same time changing over the the sport and normal and there is NO difference. I don't know if the ECU needs to be re-flashed or something. So now the car goes back Thursday. I will give a heads up to everyone who going through this or might be.
****update****
Drove the car for 2 days after getting the diff seal replaced and now I'm having issues with the sport mode. Normally, when driving in sport mode I have NEVER fish tailed taking a turn. There is some type of issue where it feels like the traction control is not enabled even...
Nope. The service guy I know tells me that when you buy the Supra you get 2 free oil changes. I already did one. Even if you don't get the 2 year Toyota free service, it is still good to bring your own oil and filter to them. I wouldn't get their crappy stuff anyway.
***update on the seal***** I just got the cars diff seal replaced today and what a Hassel. It took a week to get this crap done. The dealership had to order a special tool to put the seal back on, then they forgot to order the transmission fluid which extended the time frame. I just don't...
Ok. I'll look into the bimmer link. Don't really feel comfortable with the codes. It's bad enough the Supra has some issues of it's own with software. Lol
I do notice it being a lot more quiet when I'm just sitting at a stop light. When I open it it up, it doesn't feel as sluggish and picks up quickly than I was using the stock oil. I have been monitoring the oil temp when I start up, oddly the car warms up quicker and idles before the temp...
I got the CF ones too. They are way better looking plus you should get the CF wind deflectors to add to the look. It will also help with the wind buffering.
Where did you get those center cap? I have been looking for plain ones. The OEM caps are trash. I could definitely do something with those and add my own design.
My mistake. Let me clarify myself. * I the meant to say the engine ran smoother with the new oil from royal purple. The I don't know why the shifting was in my head. Things came out wrong.
I haven't driven the Supra in about a month in a half. There are recalls for the rear differential seal failing after 1600 miles. After changing my oil at 3200, the dealership noticed the seal breach. It was pretty bad , so had to wait till tomorrow to get it fixed. I have been really wanting...
