For sure, those vids will be coming as soon as it people start getting them.
And I agree, I'm actually curious how the track tests will be as there aren't any yet comparing hot laps.
We know those aero parts gives at least 20whp. lol j/k
But yeah maybe you can hit up AMS and offer it, so they can't make the same excuse. Conspiracy theorists think they are ramping up to appeal to the new Z guys because they know it'll be a huge market (esp after they get gapped by Supras...
Right, but I was mainly referring to their two sports cars, the Z and the GT-R. 350Z from 2003-2008, and 370Z to 2009-2020. That's 16 years of the same platform. And the GT-R 2007-2021. 14 years.
Not saying they have to always make any sort of dramatic changes, but if you look at a Porsche 911...
You're right, a Supra 2.0 will probably have much sportier driving dynamic too, because of the massive weight difference. People already have claimed they'd rather get a 2.0 over a 3.0 Supra because of that, let alone comparing it to the Z.
The other thing I don't like about Nissan in general...
This is literally why I wanted a Supra. Didn't care if it was a BMW. Just knew it was fast, I liked the looks, the way it sounds, and knew the aftermarket is going to be huge.
And not going to knock on anyone who feels the same about the Z.
It sure seems to "matter" the past 2 years when Supra haters keep hyping up the Z as a Supra killer. Now we're asking does it even really matter? So it matters.
And .2 seconds when you're in the low 12's is a measurable difference as shown in the video, where it's 2-3 car lengths.
The weight of expectations I think adds 200lbs.
Joking aside, probably chassis reinforcements, cast metals, transmission oil cooler, engine oil cooler, and other smaller bits that all add up.
I'm in the camp of I'd rather get the base Z over a Supra 2.0 at MSRP prices. However, after spending a decent amount of time watching various videos on youtube, I simply cannot get over the weird looking front end, which really sucks because that's all we'll be seeing in the rear view mirror.
Depending how bad you want one, you might just need to cough up to the dealer that offers the least markup, but still has a markup. Or start looking in the slightly used/certified market.
This is pretty spot-on. And to be honest even before buying the Supra, I was prepared for the "BMW" and "Not a manual" jokes. Some even from Mazda3 owners who probably can't even afford a basic BMW, let alone a Supra, chime in about how it's "Just a BMW." But honestly a lot of it is out of fear...
