  1. Simple Bump Steer Fix?

Let's see what the autocross and race guys say but I'd suggest... Try an alignment first. My CPO 2022 alignment was pretty bad. Super vague up front and the rear end liked to kick out under throttle. With an alignment, it stabilized the car dramatically for me. Bump steer... generally I don't...
  2. Make the Supra quieter on highways

Ha ha ha, yes indeed. But I did it for posterity! I've still got 15+ year threads on bimmerforums rolling around. :)
  3. Make the Supra quieter on highways

If your car drones stock or with an aftermarket system, try the Amazon Basics sound deadening material. About $30 for 8 square feet, cover the trunk floor like in all the sound system videos AND the battery tub walls. The latter is what I think essentially acts like a drum cylinder which...
  4. Going catless to reduce drone?

I am going to resurrect this thread with a related post... drone is drone and would drive ANYONE crazy. To me the stock exhaust drones at highway speeds. Not the tires (which are new in my case), so that leaves the exhaust which is stock. How to reduce the droning without spending too much...
  5. Oh boy, I should have bought a stick

Honestly... he's not 100% wrong. But then again, I've been on the internet and car forums since the 90s. There are car people (helpful, courteous) and there are car people (thugs, egos). I was going to suggest using your "dual-citizenship" of Supra ownership and hang out with the BMW...
  6. 22' Supra FS w/ 17k miles

Bought my 2022 3.0 Premium with driver assist, TRD carbon mirrors with 17k miles in March for $54k from Toyota with the full CPO treatment in the SF area (California).
  7. Alignment

So from the BMW side (as the Supra IS a BMW suspension)... you WANT the toe values from left to right to match, like dead on... like if the left is .1 , the right should be .1. BMWs are SUPER sensitive to toe-values being matching. Toe not matching in the rear will send your back end sideways...
  8. Slipping serpentine belt. Broken crank pulley / harmonic damper?

Ah, forgive my clear lack of reading comprehension there! Hope the dealer gets you some resolution! I did a little research on harmonic dampeners. It's a glued rubber insert/middle piece. So looks like it either tore or the glue failed.
  9. Slipping serpentine belt. Broken crank pulley / harmonic damper?

My guess, and it's a cheap fix, your belt tensioner failed. ($90-ish for the kit) It's basically a spring that pushes the belt tensioner pulley. Take a look around 2:45. If your tensioner just swivels by hand, the spring is broken. Without tension, your belt slips. And if it slips the...
  10. Front facing intake?

I agree, these look pretty amazing. My 2-cents, I had a similar intake on my BMW E36 M3, a Dinan unit, which put the K&N filter essentially in the lower grill area of the bumper. So air would hit the lower radiator and move to the right, into the air filter. Not as direct as the S58 below, but...
  11. How are your Supras holding up from going to the track? Is it a good platform?

Somewhat related note... the Supra's BMW DNA makes for an incredible track heritage. My old 1995 M3 went from *enthusiast* track days on Sundays to stop/go 75+ mile commute traffic Monday through Friday. Never left me stranded and parts were sometimes "cheap" The BMW 2-3-4 series platforms...
  12. Tire Recommendation

Tirerack.com they only carry name-brand good to great tires and they do evaluations and videos. Continental makes a great tire. But, I will go out on a limb here and say, not everyone needs the Pilot or Continental tires. If you don't plan on driving 10/10s in your car, but mainly just cruise...
  13. Bay Area Dealerships

Also consider a muffler shop. Labor rate might be less. A lot less.
  14. WTB 13mm/15mm Spacers

[ Looks around with a guilty face... ] https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0834KSLD9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ED4WMCS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 CNC machined aluminum, hub centric. Just got these for $70 for...
  15. Light Flywheel for Performance

I ran a chromoly lightweight flywheel in my 1995 M3 a few years back. I used it for track days (about once a quarter) and a stop/go commute (70 miles). The car's driveline responsiveness is pretty dramatic, definitely revs to redline a lot faster, noticed it going into/out of turns. Personally...
  16. WTB BM3 license

Also cruise the bimmer and f30 forums, quite a few on there pop up too. ProTuning (BM3 maker) doesn't care about the type of license (Supra, M4, 335i) as long as it's in the same price point. At least, that was the way it was a couple years back.
  17. 2022 Supra 3.0 Premium with 7k miles

Yep, the kid changes everything. Been there - now on the other side where the kids are driving themselves. If it helps, my wife said no 2-seat cars, because kids ( I was looking at an RX-7). So I went to the BMW M3 side (2+2) and been there for 25+ years. Picked up the Supra because it...
  18. Alignment - Post Lowering Spring Install

Two weeks is a good timeframe to let the suspension settle. Alignment specs, before you start asking for numbers, set your goals for handling. "Even tire wear and good handling" is still a little vague. :) For instance: 1. Do you want the car to handle better at highway speeds or on the...
  19. Oil Change Prices

Thanks guys, fixed my parts post, channeling my N55 motor says referring to the strap wrench!
