You'd have thought, but from what I've seen the US and Japan are first. All I've been told for the UK is September probably at the earliest but nothing confirmed. I think other European countries are similar estimates too.
Based on this video and my test drive in the Z4 M40i, the Z4 exhaust sound has absolutely nothing on the Supra. The Z4 sounded ok, but even with the roof down wasn't all that much to it. The Supra seems on another level.
No Ring time doesn't bother me. 90% of drivers wouldn't get near it anyways. And the fact they haven't published one doesn't mean anything, as far as I'm aware McLaren don't have any times set for the Senna despite the fact it could be a real contender for the fastest production time.
I was planning to get PPF but when I got in contact with the closest place that does it they were unsure of how it would work with matte paint. They had a matte PPF available but the fact that they seemed unsure of how well it would work, along with the fact that there would be edges on the film...
Yeah I know, that's why I put a "/s" meaning to indicate sarcasm. The 2JZ is a great engine with exactly what's needed for now for drifting etc, but people are writing off the B58 before it's even in the car, let alone after 20+ years of tuning and aftermarket development.
When I drove the M40i it wasn't the loudest or most exciting sound but there were definitely some pops and bangs from the exhaust, although not as loud and obvious as I'd expected.
They were most obvious when downshifting towards junctions but hardly noticeable at all through general driving.
What's the point in going with an unreliable 20+ year old engine when there is a newer version available??? No wonder it blew up... /S
I think in the next 5-10 years people will be coming out with this stuff. The 2JZ is a great engine but isn't the be all and end all of performance. Given the...
I saw that too. Makes me think they might still be mules of some kind? I think none of the pre-production cars had the badge but all production ones do in all markets?
So I had my test drive today in the Z4 M40i, and overall it was really good. I don't have much to compare it to just yet other than my GT86 so I'll use that as a base for comparison.
Power wise it was really good, plenty of grunt and seemed like a strong engine, lots of torque. For road driving...
Got my email for that as well. Chose Afternoon, Yes, Bring Someone and Road.
Was really torn between road and track but in the end decided a day driving country roads in the Supra will be a good indicator of what it will be like where I'll be driving it most, plus if we travel could be up in...
Just read the updates in here and checked my emails to see a new one!
"We're planning something Supra exciting
HAVE YOUR SAY
Would you rather take the All New Toyota GR Supra for a spin along the winding country roads? Or put it to the test on a race track? We're planning something special...
I emailed my dealer yesterday to ask, they've heard nothing and apparently on their internal message boards there have been no official replies to any Supra questions. So I think it's still probably May time that some drives will be planned, but still not confirmed.
Went to my nearest dealer today and had a seat in the Z4 sDrive 20i, interior is very nice, comfortable seats, and surprising amount of boot space, looked maybe similar to my 86 with the seats up. Only thing is when sitting in it the windscreen line seems very low and with the roof up (was down...
I just did a quick search for the 0-62mph times and it was coming back as 4.6 in all the things I saw, but they were all from August 2018. If BMW released new times recently it may be different, but as far as I've seen its only the US 0-60 that I've seen updated, but please correct me if I'm wrong.
They averaged 2mins but from watching the videos they are all talking and commentating on the lap, sliding around and having fun, and also none are wearing helmets which suggests to me that they weren't pushing super hard. I reckon there might be another couple of seconds possible.
I doubt this is anything like the eventual GRMN. From the looks of it it is just a concept for the eventual GT4 race class like the Racing Concept was likely representing GTE.
Some parts may be similar on GRMN but if the looks are like this it will be very disappointing. That said I love that...
I keep seeing this mentioned on the forum but is there any proof that it's actually de-tuned for reliability?
I've been under the impression that it's entirely due to the EU emissions filter. For both the Z4 and Supra in the EU the power figure is 335hp, removing any idea of a specific Supra...
