The test drives for people who couldn't attend the Thruxton event seems to be a complete mess. At my dealer there are two people that couldn't make it and there is no info about the drives. Just an email saying they will be called to organise it.
The cars are held centrally by Toyota and will...
I got one! I wasn't sure if it was for everyone that ordered or not because a few weeks ago I noticed you could order one on the website so I asked for one and it said it shipped and never appeared!
Interested to see how it will work with the OEM paint finish. Let me know how it looks once it's done! If it keeps the same looks as OEM I'd be more likely to consider it.
Thanks for all the info! I'm still considering PPF but from what I've heard with difficulty of application for the Supra with pieces not being large enough etc I'm going to wait a bit and see how it goes with ceramic. Will just drive very carefully to try and avoid chips as much as possible
I'm just going ceramic as I'm not sure how the PPF would work with the matte finish. If I can get the smart insurance though it should help with any stone chip repairs and a lot cheaper than PPF! Not sure how good the repair will look though...
Definitely best to check with the dealer on what is done. I'm not sure if it is a ceramic or not. I had a quick look on the website and there wasn't a whole lot of info on what the protection actually is. They offer a sealant and wheels/interior etc too on the site, but it will likely vary...
Supaguard is a paint protection stuff that is put on the car by the dealer. Not sure if it is a film or a ceramic or just a normal sealant thing though. I think Supaguard is just a brand name.
Smart insurance is to do with scuffs and dings and stone chips. Covers you for them up to £500 for...
Yeah I've been told 2nd as well. Bit of a shame as Sunday would have given me all day to detail and prep, instead I've just got to rush in once I finish work. Might just coincidentally get a slight sickness bug that day hahaha
As for the 48 hours to clear etc does that count for finance...
Cool thanks! They offered me the Supaguard but none of the other stuff. I'll ask about the tyre and alloy and smart insurance as well. Should have got smart for the GT86, it has hundreds of stone chips, so if the Supra will be similar will be necessary!
My dealer doesn't have the stuff to do the PDI yet either, but are apparently chasing it up. Just hope I can pick it up on the 2nd!
As for the cost I was £56,545 I think, just the price of the A90 Edition plus £50 for fuel (tight-arse dealership!) The paint on the base and Pro models are in...
He got back to me again, said there's no option to order the plaque/badge and there's nothing in the car to install. Just looks like we don't get it at all...
He sent me a pic today confirming there's no plaque on the car, so I asked if Toyota UK are able to provide the A90 Edition plaque to be added in, but not there from factory.
Not too bad of a dodgy warehouse lol. It's a workshop at the dealer which is mainly used for storage of cars at the moment which is locked securely when not in use. They put the tyres behind to make sure any cars being moved keep well away. There are about 4 other cars in the workshop too...
My cars also now been taken from the depot where I saw it to the dealer to begin PDI. Got a photo sent of where it's being kept. Looks hopefully nice and safe!
I've bought a tow hook mount made for BMW F Series as the picture looked a similar size to the Supra tow hook threads. Will just be a bit of trial and error to see if it fits!
Planning to get a cut down edge plate so it is a bit narrower than normal but with the full size font so hopefully...
Went and saw my car yesterday and tried to take loads of photos with various lightings and positions to try and show off the colour in daylight. Like most pics of the car they don't really do it justice. The paint feels smooth to touch but not like gloss paint. It has a nice sheen to it which is...
Yeah that is disappointing... Apparently we will be getting some sort of certificate of authenticity for being in the first 300 deliveries but apparently that's it. I'm at my dealer now waiting to go see mine so I'll ask as well if they know any more about that.
