I'm not doing any protection film. I've thought about it and if I was I'd want to do full car and I'm not sure if it is worth the cost when ceramic coatings will do most of the job of protecting from contaminants, the only thing is stone chips to keep an eye out for. Plus there is a chance the...
I'm glad the A90 looks different compared to the rest. Looking back all Supras have had different designs and are very of their time. If they released a brand new car today that looked like the A80, although it itself looks good still, releasing it now would look a bit dated. Plus with all the...
Just thought I'd make a thread for discussing detailing and preparing the matte paint. I've got the matte grey A90 Edition on order and I'm sure there will be others on here as well with the matte paint coming.
I've done some research on the best ways to take care of and protect the paint, but...
I'm planning to keep my GT86 alongside the Supra. Depends on how I feel longer term owning both whether or not I'll keep both. But having a more powerful and more comfortable sports car and a lighter manual gearbox one could be quite fun!
I've heard from someone working at Toyota who also owns...
I've ordered that as well, the Q2M Cure Matte with the base ceramic too. When I'm doing my prep I'm thinking of making a thread for the matte paint prep and methods used which might be helpful for some others in future.
Doing a full wheels off prep with a lot of contactless methods since can't...
Looks stunning! Was a little worried how the matte paint would look in typical British weather but every pic so far looks good!
On a slight downer though my dealer said today that the Supra registration system won't be going live until the 2nd of Sept so not sure what that will mean for actual...
Interesting to hear they are letting you take the car to get detailed on dealer plates. If I'm not allowed to take delivery before the 1st I might ask if I can take it home for the detail then bring it back to them after. And I'm really hoping all the other cars arrive with no holes too!
Mine...
My quotes not been too bad so far, cheaper than I was expecting. Managed to get £710 with me and parents as named drivers with 4 years no claims used for SDPC 4000 miles per year with just standard fitted alarm and no black box.
Compare the market now has the Mk 5 listed so if people haven't...
2.9 that's insane! Were you quoted on the 2.9? Sounds more like that as with just a 1% difference on interest but a GFV 7k lower and same deposit. Unless the M2 is considerably more than that cheaper? I always thought they were around £49k so not too much of a difference to give that much of an...
Just heard from my dealer, my car is due in on Thursday or Friday!
Since putting a 19 plate on it anyways I'm thinking of getting asap if they'll let me... Will have to see.
That's insane that it is cheaper with a lower GFV. Something doesn't seem right... Is it a much lower interest rate?
I'm planning to put 15k down which will get the payments to around £450. If they're planning yearly upgrades like they've stated might be worth keeping on PCP and upgrading every...
My previous cars have been
'09 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 litre (if people think the 86 is slow...)
'15 Toyota GT86 (still own)
'20 Toyota Supra (soon)
Steep upward climb in performance!
Planning to keep the GT86 alongside the Supra. Will see how I get on with both.
I bought SU19 PRA back in November when it was "summer" deliveries...
Going to get it on a 69 then put it on a month or two later so I get that new car reg feeling lol.
Why would you want to swap it? The circled area acts as a knee brace and gives the driver zone a single-seater cockpit feel. And after driving one on track both driver and passenger side it is definitely better to have it for the driver!
That colour is known as Ice Grey Metallic in the European market so probably just what came in from the factory and they didn't re-write it to the US spec?
Either way, nice photos! Crazy they didn't clean it properly though.
I asked my dealer the same and he said Toyota told him that the plate holder is part of the standard equipment and you can't request that it not be fitted. I dunno though, you might have more luck!
If I see my car at the depot without the holder though I'll be refusing one being placed for sure!
