From what you've said there it seems similar to a lot of people with the A90. I get the arguments from die hard Supra fans about how much different it is than what they hoped, similar to the die hard GTR fans. But as you've said, after driving it, getting used to it and seeing how the...
Seems like for the first time the Corvette will be available right hand drive so will be very interesting for the UK market. The only thing is the price. If they match the US prices for the UK then it would be amazing, but they never do.
Base C7 in the UK (left hand drive but still from...
I think this is where a lot of the disagreement comes from. Fundamentally it is a good product. It drives well, is fast, nice interior, good handling and looks good. There is nothing wrong with it as a whole.
Seems like most of the complaints are about not what the car does but what it is in...
Looks like an EU license plate with the blue on the left that the truck has and the lower car has 4 cyl wheels, with the top the North American markers. I'm betting this is the truck from the factory to the docks to ship them worldwide.
They've always been quoting Sept to Dec, but I think the December ones will be the people that didn't have an order set before the driving day, or the people that get on the list now after people drop out. As far as I'm aware once you chose a colour etc and clicked the order button your car was...
Looking at any other manufacturers, even Toyota's other models, which other car shares anything with the previous model when there is 26 years between them being launched? Genuinely interested. Because beyond things like same type of engine and drivetrain I don't see what could be done...
If I can go in to a Toyota dealership, talk to a Toyota representative and put down money on a brand new car from that manufacturer that they have decided is named the Supra then it's a Toyota Supra.
Whether or not it lives up to the legacy of the predecessors is up for debate and only time...
I wonder how difficult an S58 swap would be down the line. Surely it would be a similar ECU programming type thing to the B58 since they're both BMW so would it be possible for just a more simple swap and remap with a couple of supporting mods? Will be interesting to see what's possible a few...
Pretty sure that's only for the Japanese market, for other countries the final inspection is done at the arrival port or the dealership itself. Hence the 3 month travel time, about the time to get from Austria to Japan.
My dealer said the car is due at the depot on the 1st but nobody will be there to do all the checks/servicing etc so will be the Monday at the earliest.
I think they are doing same as the US with a country wide launch all the same week. Just hope I can collect on the first otherwise it will be...
Just been told by my dealer that for the UK market you have to take delivery with the front plate mounting attached.
He said Toyota UK stated:
"As this is standard on the vehicle, we are unable to request that this not be fitted."
Looks like bumper holes for everyone! (in the UK)
I'm not that impressed with any of the aftermarket exhaust sounds so far, the Milltek is a little louder with way more cracks and bangs but the tone seems similar, the Akrapovic seems to make it sound even more like a modded BMW, the HKS one imo is the best so far, but of all the systems I've...
Had what seems to be confirmation of my VIN today through the dealer's generic order confirmation link. Basically had to just check details and read Ts and Cs. Annoyingly didn't take a screenshot of it and now can't access it again!
Also had update with an estimated arrival at the local depot...
For residuals I've been told 31-32k at 3 years and my dealer was surprised it was that high! They have still not been told that finance information is available but he kept checking the system and saw it was up, so might not be 100% finalised yet.
When I spoke to him yesterday he also said some...
Yeah that's right, but I think it was to cancel the order only. No confirming or approval necessary, but I think most people are in touch with the dealers anyways for going forward.
I'm going in on Saturday so will see what they're saying then. I think although we are better off than the US...
I've not had anything beyond getting the official photo from the pit garage emailed.
As far as I was aware whenever you chose your colour and clicked confirm there, that's your order set and confirmed and if you wanted out then you needed to take action. If you do nothing the car will appear in...
It was from my dealer themselves. I think it is the normal stuff they upsell for a new car. They have "AC Protect (Supaguard)" for £299 "Service" for £489, "Fuel" for £50 (don't even chuck chuck in a tank of fuel on a 50k car...) and "Paint" for £710 which surely should be included in the A90...
That initial one was put up as a guideline and stated that it may vary. Not sure of they've updated that one since to say it is definite but I'm sure it said somewhere it was only a guide and subject to change.
