Sounds good! I agree that they knew little to nothing. The Texas dealers were not budging on price and were stingy on trade-in so I went east to Lafayette.
Your completely right. I probably worded it poorly as I was trying to say he should still have his warranty as they are the same parts, not that it would be paid by Toyota.
I drove to Lafayette to get mine and they called their Supra technician in on a Saturday to activate and prep the car. From what I’ve seen from factory tags, Toyota doesn’t want the car to leave the lot without the activation.
The leather is fairly stiff on the Supra. I’m more worried about abrasions as it is polymer coated leather (BMW Dakota Leather). I think throwing a towel over the seat would more than suffice.
If your parts are replaced with OEM equivalent, your warranty would not be void. Warranty work does not have to be performed by Toyota. I cannot see OEM BMW not being treated this way unless you have a dick Toyota dealership.
The bigger question is if BMW will work on it.
Using the jbl house curve helps a lot. You can clean up the mids a good bit and tamping the highs down helps them come through.
The factory system is still shit, but it can sound a lot better, just you have to tune it in the opposite direction you went if clarity is what your after.
Ceramics are like a long term wax. You apply it once every several years. They do not protect the paint from rock chips, minor abrasions, scratches, etc. They provide some protection from bird droppings, chemicals, tar and make the car easier to wash.
PPF is protection against physical...
There is a solution. Twisted Tuning sells it.
This story came up on reddit and I mentioned that there as well. Seems nobody really knows yet that they have options that aren’t ridiculous.
I’m watching the Manicci ones from afar. I hope to be wrong on my concerns, but the vagueness of it all is very off putting. Indian owner using an Italian name for company, US address, incorporated in BC, “warehoused” in Asia.
The website seems a bit dodgy on the descriptions on materials...
The templates can be modified for edge wrapping. This is actually desirable as custom cutting everything means they are taking a razor to your entire car. Nobody has perfect hand control, so nicks can happen. There are a lot of ways to edge wrap to where panels don’t have to come off if the...
I got the impression Toyota corporate has no fucking clue from the survey questions. Granted I was a bit drunk when I picked up, but there were no hard follow up questions to comments and what they did ask that was detailed would be the last questions I’d be asking if I was Toyota. IMO this is...
How about no. There is a time for carbon fiber and this ain’t it for me. It is cosmetic benefits only vs nylon or aluminum options and I’m honestly not too impressed with how the weave looks in conjunction with the details (not parallel).
I think Twisted Tuning is priced reasonably fair and...
I agree with you there. Nothing make sense with the other rumors and BMWs history with their premium power plants. Toyota could get desperate with the C8 coming out, but I think 2022+ is more likely for that kind of move.
The rumors on the 2021 output increase is 40 hp give or take. That is...
The dust still sticks but it doesn’t appear to bind as well IMO. So you still need to scrub, just not as hard. The only issue is you need to reapply much more often as the scrubbing wears away the coating fairly quickly. I typically reapply when I rotate tires since I give them a good...
You have several options. The biggest issue is no one has done their homework yet. My thoughts will be a mess, but here they are.
The problems / note-worthies are:
The factory amplifier rolls of the low frequencies as volume increases
The source to the 8” woofers loses ALL output around...
