You arent at all out of spec. Your engine is fully breaking in. You have used a liter or quart in 5k miles?? Thats not useage in terms of anything excessive. The 5-30 makes no major difference. Sounds like a good motor and normal oil use.

People will PAY to avoid the dealer experience. Call - buy - have it delivered and never enter a dealer show/sales space.

Nothing is showing he has a bad motor in terms of oil use. Quite normal one it appears.
