Oh, then there was the CSC failures... and the steering lock and etc etc etc..
Arrghhh going to give me flashbacks bringing up steering lock issue. Nothing like being randomly stuck in a parking lot for an hour trying to get your car to start due to faulty electronics.

Thankfully there was a free fix - you just turn the car on, and then rip out the fuse for the steering lock. Leaves it stuck in the "unlocked" position. Technically this means it would be easier for someone to hotwire your car, but that is incredibly unlikely nowadays (they just bring a trailer/tow-truck instead to steal modern cars)

I came from a 2010 370Z, Touring w/ Sport pkg, automatic transmission. No mods except a tune.

I loved my 370Z, but I did own both cars for a period, and let me tell you: the 370Z felt like a dog compared to the Supra when I'd switch back and forth. The amount of power on tap and throttle response on the Supra just blows it away. I think this is especially pronounced if you are coming from automatic transmission Z, as it's an apples to apples comparison. Part of this is probably that the ZF8 transmission in the Supra is about as good as you can get other than maybe Porsche PDK.

Also, B58 engine/exhaust is music to my ears - it's a really great sounding engine, all the way up to redline. The VQ37 sounds good at lower RPM but once you get into the higher RPM it starts to sound really raspy and hollow.

I do miss the color (Black Cherry) on my old 370Z though, it was a lot more uncommon and cool color than the somewhat boring Supra options.

No 370Z but I bought my wife a 350Z Touring 6sp many years back and we enjoyed the hell out of it. At the time I wanted an S2000 but she had been DDin'g an NB Miata and was over the convertible so the 350Z won. It was as great car, fun to drive, quick and torque'y enough though I wish it had the optional Brembos. My only real complaint was the seats were uncomfortable on long drives, and we did many road trips in it. I took to the drag strip once and ran 13.9 @ 102MPH completely stock down to the air filter and was quicker than all of the modded Z's that day. #drivermod

I eventually got an S2000 (and you'll have to pry the keys out of my cold, dead hands) and she's now driving a G37x. We're excited about the new Z and will be buying one; it should complement the Supra nicely. I am a bit worried the seats in the new Z will be as bad as the 350, though..
The bottom part of the seats in the 370, and the 400 are the same part. even the interior rear strut covers are the same part.

Without a production synch-up like BMW with Toyota, thats what you do to make a 'new' sportscar. Its the only way a board approves a project - given the outlay vs return.

Stupid world is SUV/box - truck crazy.

Did any fellow members come from a 370z?. I had one before I got my Supra, and oddly enough, I liked it just as much as the Supra. (2009 370z 6MT)

2010 Nismo, GTM twin turbo, fun car. Slower than the Supra and not without its problems.

I owned a '13 with sport trim (forged wheels + diff) and think the supra is a better car in some ways but worse in others. I think the Z was much more planted and had more mechanical grip...the Supra likes to let loose a little and that's not a preference for me. That said, the Z felt heavier and the clutch was a pain and would make a weird noise when you lifted off quickly.
