The music in this commercial is vaguely reminiscent of some of the same ensemble vocal music in intense sections heard in the soundtrack from "Akira" (1988). Very cool choice.
You know, with a manual 3.0 MKV actually being a thing now and available in the near future I'd have thought the hating on the very concept of it would be put to rest.
The excellent ZF8 automatic transmission version is not going anywhere and might even be easier to obtain new and used for...
And a last related post. Apparently Mazda is predicting that the upcoming line of new inline six and hybrid four cylinder engines (and one assumes whatever next evolution the engine in the MX-5 Miata will go through) will be their last internal combustion engines.
No mention of the Wankel...
We've all heard the rumors up to this point and this was very cynically predictable.
We get an SUV badged "Crown" that isn't actually the Toyota Crown sedan.
With the Avalon gone at least the Camry is still a sedan (for now).

^^ It's just a very odd rumor. The MKV/Z4 chassis wasn't ever designed with AWD in mind to the best of my knowledge. Further, Tetsuya Tada seemed to be adamant that his car only come exclusively in a RWD configuration.
It still remains to be seen what engine the GRMN will use but I can see...
I find it hard to believe that the already limited production capacity out of Motomachi would ever on its own provide "too many" GR Corollas.
Toyota has yet to (if they ever will) put any policies in place that, say, make it harder for flippers to sell a GR Corolla for much higher prices...
Thanks for the dismissive response but it really comes down to driving and enjoying the car with all or most of the desired specs for some of us no matter how original or not original it is.
As I said, I don’t really care much about originality or collectability if the desired specs and trim...
Given how there are no hard *mechanical or electronic* differences between the Circuit Pack and Performance Pack trim levels I have to disagree when it comes to real world enjoyment of these cars excepting factory original status.
I'm not suggesting that meticulously collecting all the body and...
The good news is that the GR Corolla "Core" model has all the most important options including the dual Torsen LSDs.
From the video presentation it looks like sourcing OEM or aftermarket parts from the "Circuit" model will be possible (front and rear bumpers, aluminum or aftermarket CF hood...
At current time we are still getting some nice cars (GR Corolla anyone?) and there are many nice cars in circulation.
I'm not going to get into a debate over car emissions and needing to get away from that globally but the electrification shift is inevitable now. However I don't see it as...
This is everything I'd hoped we would get in a GR Corolla including the dual Torsen LSD option making it as a worldwide option and the vented aluminum hood (albeit limited and only for one model year), front and rear multi-piston brakes and even some body reinforcement over the standard Corolla...
That Toyota GR went to the expense to shoot a teaser ad that elaborate combining every blatant viral hint they've been doling out for months now is some of the best tongue-in-cheek trolling of their own fans. They were just waiting until the last possible moment to release this ad. It could...
Talk about pouring a bucket of salt into the wound. Yeesh, Mazda. They did say some months ago already that they didn't want to bring back MazdaSpeed but this just feels like they're doing their best to kill any hopes of any fun future Mazdas apart from (hopefully) continued work on the Miata...
