Nope, and yup.
A friend of mine is good friends with the guy who was the driver’s boyfriend (not her passenger). This news aligns with details he relayed.
Anything is possible, but I know that when I owned my BMW and was on the forums there were stories of dealers that had to keep cars for days trying to complete flash updates.
My Supra was a lemon - but only because the scantool Toyota gave its dealers couldn’t flash the body ECU (and likely...
You don’t want those dealers doing BMW reflashes. BMW can barely do it.
Also, if the scantool fiasco from last year is any indication, it probably isn’t entirely safe to assume Toyota has everything in order - even now.
That’s definitely true for the ones listed at MSRP - I’ve been calling (actually considering one now instead of the Supra). Apparently Chevy puts the cars on their websites when the dealer shipment is imminent even if the car was an ordered vehicle. The ones where the owner bailed out are being...
Well, I could see them deprioritizing a low sales volume car needing extra work. I’m sure they’re barely staffed to handle the regular work load.
They could have also spent weeks trying to decide whether the prep center would fix this or if the dealers would...
I have used overspeed warnings in other cars. Living in Virginia, the only state where reckless driving is a criminal offense. You get caught 20mph over or 80mph and it’s reckless - a criminal misdemeanor.
If the theory about the headlight recall+fix is indeed keeping cars at “port” then hopefully there will soon be a lot more cars on dealer lots as they work through fixing them.
Alcantara gets hot too. Had it in my S4. Was plenty nice but you could tell the drivers seat had more miles on it.
I will always pick leather if possible...
Interesting theory. These seem like quick fixes though. That one seems super easy to fix... not like the bad PCBs headlight recall.
That would certainly help explain where all the cars we know are in the US are (because they don’t seem to be on dealer lots).
This pisses me off so much. Another Supra fouled. Some dealer in NJ let this kid out in it when it had fewer than 9 miles on it. He repeatedly claims he isn’t using more than half throttle but he’s clearly exceeding break-in RPMs and I’m pretty sure he redlined it a few times.
