I had this issue and they told me to replace the 02 sensor. I did that and haven't had the light come on since but there is a shadow code stored in the ECU. It just hasn't tripped the CEL. Some people the issue resolves itself, others replace the sensor to fix it. Seems to be inconsistent and...

Probably the call module battery needs to be replaced.

I had this same code pop up and I contacted AA. They suggested I replace the sensor so I did and for the last week the CEL has been off. Hoping it stays that way but so far so good.

Got tired of the black wheels so I had them powered coated a hyper silver.

How many miles on the car? Have the plugs/coils ever been changed?

Get BimmerLink and you can force the reset with that. I had to do it on my M550I. The car wouldn‘t let a reset through the dash but BimmerLink could force it through. Its worth trying before spending big money at the dealer.
