I only just noticed the spring was a slightly smaller diameter one end & the it would only properly fit in the rubber cup the right way up, there wasn't much in it.

I have had no trouble or squeaks with mine The comment I will make is I nearly put my first front spring in the car upside down, I only just noticed it, could that be a possibility ?

That is very surprising, it must have been out of spec to start with ? Your front camber will increase (non-adjustable) as will your rear. Your toe in/out will change front & rear. Mine needed adjusting from factory it had 1/8" too much toe in & we increased rear camber It required adjusting...
