Is everybody getting ready for Barcelona F1?
I expect Kimi to be right up front again.
How about Red Bull being upset that their ICU was found to be the best and will be used as the baseline. That means Mercedes and Ferrari get one engine upgrade this year and everybody else (except Red Bull)...
For the last few days the weather forecast for next Wednesday, my Track Day at RA, was for some rain. I'm OK with that, I raced in the rain several times and did quite well. However, today the forecast has changed to sunny! I'm OK with that as well. After watching so many SCCA Runoffs at RA in...
Thanks for posting this video. It was great fun to watch and I have to admit, I was impressed with the quality that they are building into the GR cars!
No kidding! And those crazy pit lane speed penalties really screwed Russel. But then the team did screw up badly by not doing the 5 seconds at the pit stop. This team just doesn't seem to screw up this bad very often.
You'll like the Supra MUCH better. I considered a GR Corolla and did a test drive... didn't care for it as it felt cheap. Fast but cheap. The Supra is appointed so much better. Especially if you get the Bimmercode stuff and fine tune everything!
Today is the big day. Kimi, Max and Lewis start off as 1, 2 & 3. I expect Max to be leading by the end of the first lap... if not the first corner. Kimmi is such a good starter (sarcasm). And I wouldn't be surprised if Kimi crashes himself and maybe somebody else out of the race trying to get...
I've done a lot of TNiA events at a lot of different tracks and they have all been well run. I'll let you know what I think of the RA version after I attend.
Consider Barber Motorsports Park... crazy elevation changes. And Daytona, the high banks are great fun. I raced SCCA for 20+ years and a track day at Daytona pumped more adrenaline than any wheel to wheel race! I'd love to do Laguna Seca sometime.
You REALLY need to get to Barber Motorsports Park... especially with a bike! The elevation changes are crazy cool and the museum is unbelievable. Oh, and the crazy art is EVERYWHERE, on the grounds, inside the track, inside the museum... even in the bottom of the elevator shaft (which is glass)!
I've raced wheel to wheel at a lot of tracks in the Midwest and done track days at a lot of tracks in the Southeast. I've been to Road Atlanta many times as a spectator. Now I finally get to do a track day there with the 2025 Supra. Looking forward to Wednesday, June 17th!!!
I agree completely! I raced sports cars for over 20 years and I paid handsomely for the opportunity! Race entry fees, motels, tow vehicles, motorhome, long hours on the road to tracks and home again... to say nothing of the cost of a good race car and the cost of repairs! These guys get paid...
I saw a story that says Max laughed at McLaren for starting the race on intermediate rain tires.
" Max Verstappen poked fun at McLaren’s decision to start the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix on the intermediate compound as that strategic call immediately backfired. "
I admit to not liking Max...
I was at 19 as well. But I did do some racing... drag racing on Woodward Ave out NW of Detroit in a '67 Chevy Nova with a 327ci / 375hp. I only got beat by about half of the big block 427's and Hemi's!
What a spectacular race! George and Kimi racing was so fun to watch! Too bad George's car let him down. And then Lewis and Max had a good run at the end. Congrats to Lewis for getting the better of Max... a lot of us really appreciated that!
And has anybody else noticed that Max is smiling more...
I'm just enjoying the fact that it has been fairly close racing and more passing than in the DRS era.
It's the same top four teams as last year, but some of the mid field teams look to be improving. I really hope Audi can step up. Cadillac seems to be a bit further behind, but still improving.
So as far as qualifying is concerned, George did better than Kimi, Lando did better than Oscar, Lewis has improved past Charles and Issac is JUST behind Max. I'd wager that by the end of the season, Issac is out qualifying Max more often than not. But Max still beats him in the race. And...
