That was a fun race to watch. And although Max had a good drive, I think the drive of the day belongs to Ollie Bearman who fell to the back of the pack and came back to be the 'Best of the Rest' and finish 7th (behind Max) after a big battle with Linblad in the Racing Bull (who also had a great...
I'd love to see Haas and GR be the best of the rest. It's been a long hard road. But I think Guenther Steiner didn't do a very good job for Haas while he was there. They sure seem to have gotten a lot better since he left.
This is pretty much just wild ass guesses since I haven't seen anything of importance yet!
My list for basic qualifying at the first race:
Mercedes
McLaren
Ferarri
RedBull
HAAS
Racing Bulls
Alpine
I think
Williams
Audi
Aston Martin
Cadillac
WDC at the end of the year:
George
Lando
Charles...
I agree completely and really hope you are right.
As somebody who owned 4 different Mk1 MR2's, 2 for the street (1 was supercharged) and 2 that raced in the SCCA, I think the twin rear deck is much more practical.
I used to love Porsche 911's, but they used to be beyond my budget. Now I could afford one without breaking a sweat, but I've lost interest in the brand. I love my 2025 Supra, but if the MR2 has 250+hp and is close to the current Supra in comfort and tech features, I'd be shopping for one ASAP!
I think the talk of a 300hp MR2 is a bit unrealistic. But I want a fun to drive car, not a rocket ship. So I'll stay optimistic and we'll see what happens. Besides, I'll be 77 in a couple of months. I'm not sure I'll be doing track days with a new MR2 in 4 or 5 years. I have high hopes as I'm in...
So the Haas car livery has been unveiled. Should we all be supporting them in 2026? I guess I kind of like it. But it still seems strange for Toyota (or Gazoo Racing if you prefer) is the title sponsor on a car powered by Ferrari?
I'm just waiting until Monday the 26th for the first test day. At least that week we'll get some idea of how things are going to work and which teams have cars that actually run and which teams aren't really up to speed yet.
If it's a higher end version of the MR2, similar to the Supra and costing $60,000+, maybe the AWD function will be something that can be turned on and off? Personally, I don't mind if it's AWD. Oh, and BMWAF is absolutely right, there is NO WAY the MR2 would be 400hp. That would be a HUGE...
I've owned my Supra for a year now. I did track days at Barber, Daytona (155mph) and Sebring. My car is bone stock except for wheel spacers and a few appearance items. I track mine with the stock tires. Now I'll admit that after racing SCCA wheel to wheel for over 20 years, and at the tender age...
