Thanks for the info! I'm going to spend a bit of time as well to come up with a cleaner mounting solution. I don't know why it bothers me to have it just stuck in there. I'm sure it's fine. It's proven to be fine, really, given how many people have done it to their cars and haven't had any...
Finally installed the JB4 in the car. Took about a week, mostly because I have a 2mo and a 4yo and I wrapped three other projects into it. I primarily used this video to install the device:
It was a good walkthrough. I am not, however, a fan of the "jam the JB4 into the compartment wrapped...
If I have to be on my back on a creeper under the car for more than an hour or two, I'll take it to a shop. But I'm spoiled. With access to a lift or a pit, it would be an easy swap, IMO. That being said, I took it to a shop.
This part is not for sale - it's free! Including shipping. If anyone wants this and will use it (not just resell it for a quick buck), please let me know. I installed a JB4 and am retiring this, which served me well for about 5k miles. Made a good difference for what it is (cranked up to the...
So I actually just got the JB4 installed and did an update a few mins ago. People realize that when updating to v22, you're installing what is listed as an "alpha" version? At least the way I read it in the app, which isn't the most elegant interface. You should expect bugs with the firmware in...
I have the track edition. It's a lot of noise, but it sounds so good. There are videos out there of it, but it's so difficult to get an idea about how loud something is from watching a video on a computer. We'll see if it gets me kicked out of NCM in a couple of weeks!
Yeah, getting tired of waiting for Twisted Tuning's solution, I found this: . Reached out to Rich ([email protected]) and ordered a set of the "track" version of these motor mounts. Having them installed on the July 5th and will let you know how they work.
Yep, read that thread and posted in it myself (see the 2nd page). I do appreciate the warning - I really do - but it's all going on the car. In addition, I've been communicating with Rich over at VRF Design about motor mounts they sell (the stiffer track version) and I'll likely buy 'em and have...
