  4. New 2018 Toyota Camry

TRD Camry and Avalon: https://www.motor1.com/news/276190/toyota-camry-avalon-styling-revealed/ Avalon is kinda meh, but I don't dislike it per se.... That Camry though, NO.

  6. Interviews with Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada

I'd own one as a stock DD. But, we're so far OT now that Guff/Supra 93 may sell me into 3rd world slavery lol
  7. Interviews with Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada

I wrote a more in depth comment on why they're meh, but it's such a dead horse that I deleted it. Basically, the issue isn't just the head gasket and improper stud tq values; Toyota used weak aluminum that was prone to annealing, as well as engineering a head bolt seating area thinner than it...
  8. Interviews with Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada

7Ms are piles of garbage that should be relegated to the dump where the vast majority of Japanese owners dropped theirs in the 90s. sidenote: motors that are opposed to themselves (see: boxer) were never a great idea; self hate is a big contributor to engine suicide. this message has been...
  9. 2020 Toyota Supra production to begin 2018, by Magna Steyr, Austrian manufacturer

Nah, nothing that cool. I hear very little as far as specific details anymore. I get bits and pieces and high level summaries on some stuff, but overall not a lot.
  10. 2020 Toyota Supra production to begin 2018, by Magna Steyr, Austrian manufacturer

Yes, but one other person quoted 3500, and that figure matches another piece of information that I can't reveal, but regardless of the large variance in estimates it should be far more limited than the Z4.

  12. Interviews with Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada

+1 there is apparently base and premium for the I6, and there may be the same the I4 (might just be base however). They may be on speaking terms, but Getrag said they would never work with Toyota ever again. The ex TRD engineer that was telling me about the history of the relationship (this...
  13. 2020 Toyota Supra production to begin 2018, by Magna Steyr, Austrian manufacturer

I think BMW will easily hit their targets, but I've heard several times now that the Supra will be fairly limited for 2019 (6k is the highest number I've heard). Either way, we will know next year.
  14. 3rd gen G29 BMW Z4 (2019-202X)

    affordable is relative
  15. Toyota Supra rumored to be offered with 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder base model

I think it likely came down to a decision of whether to move the 86 upmarket with more performance or to create a lower trim Supra, and the Supra ended up being the solution. Potential reasons: 86 was designed to be a successor to the original car, so in other words fun, cheap, reliable, but...
  16. A90 Supra engines and parts diagrams (all) revealed!

I'm not a fan of wingless A80s, but wingless A70s are gorgeous :) The A80 has a more swept back hatch and a shorter decklid that makes it look weird without the wing.
