Hate to repeat myself, but being a mobile developer I deal with this reality every day. If you think Android is the dominant platform it means you are not understanding how it's deployed worldwide. The vast majority of Android installs are on devices or in markets that don't mean jack to...
Y'all are talking like you haven't driven in a modern car.
Disable auto start-stop if you don't like it, or put the car in sport mode.
Tailor the radio behavior to your preference. You can have it shut off when you open the door, or shut off when you lock the door, or another couple...
Heh, it's not that simple. A large portion of Android devices are low end devices in foreign markets that probably don't matter to car sales (certainly not to BMW, or modern Toyotas capable of smartphone integration).
This has been beat to death on the BMW forums and all the data people have...
I played with their online configurator yesterday and I think the base Corvette, the one that will be under $60K (right from the mouth of the GM president), is already an epic supercar for most buyers, and already a strong starting point for the base price. Some people will be OK with a $60K...
"Active sound design" is common on BMWs, Audis, and others nowadays. They make the cars more quiet and isolated, and do this to bring some engine/exhaust sound (albeit fake) back into the cabin. I don't like it. I disabled it on my X3 M40i (pulled a fuse) and actually think the sound coming...
Saw Supra today, and it's small (but hot)
Saw a Supra in traffic today with dealer plates, and the first thing that jumped out at me was how small it looked. You'd think I would have known this, being a previous Z4 owner, but somehow I had been picturing it being a bigger car for some reason...
They always give polite reviews of all the cars they test. Sometimes they will make a kindhearted critique but I've never seen them be really negative.
These guys have been doing nicely made review videos for decades before Youtube came along -- I remember watching their show on a local PBS...
Definitely for that price it's worth a try. I sometimes cringe when folks pay big $$ to get it applied.
I need to shop around for ceramics, something DIY that offers the benefits but isn't crazy complicated. I always put Klasse on my new cars, but this time I think I'll try something a little...
Make sure they are able to tap the camera power into the switched power, then use the Blackvue battery pack to handle any power when the vehicle is off. BMWs don't tolerate parasitic draw well -- bunch of folks on the M40i forums had issues when trying to tap into constant power for their cams.
The red LE at my local dealer (which I passed on) was built 5/13 and they won't get it until 8/1. I wasn't able to track that one's shipping so I don't know when it got to the US, but I am sure it's sitting at one of the US ports, since later builds have already gotten here. 6/15 builds are...
I am not sold on ceramic -- it's better than wax and can last longer with additional benefits, but it can still be defeated by bird droppings and any really harsh stuff, and still allow damage to clearcoat. So keep your expectations reasonable.
The best reason to put ceramic over PPF is to...
The Z4 and Supra are based on BMW's cluster architecture (CLAR) platform. CLAR is highly modular, being designed to accept all of BMW's engines as well as electric propulsion, and work with RWD or AWD. The Supra/Z4 chassis is unique, but since it's based on CLAR, it's a Lego-style chassis with...
