Can you please ask him/her what is the difference between the euro spec C5 oil and API SN Plus insofar as additives for curing the LSPI problems with direct injection turbo engines?
The oil has the SN PLUS designation, so it is compatible with the direct injection turbo engine and its intended to prevent the low speed pre-ignition (LSPI) problem. Just cant find any data on the HTHS for this oil. The Gazoo oil part no. 08880-WA010 is a API SN C5 spec. C5 HTHS is 2.6...
OK, so they used what appears to be plain old synthetic in the car API SN PLUS 0W-20 Toyota part No. 00279-0WQTE-01. Should I go back and make them refill it with the GR oil? Does the oil they used meet the BMW LL01 FE spec?
Did front bumper, hood, rockers and the panel they call “door garnish”. Then did rear diffuser to match the front splitter and rockers (if you don’t use satin or “stealth” PPF, the trim’s matte finish gets glossy - which is OK so it matches A pillar)
Nice work on the new car! This thread is dead, no life. We need to get some drives put together in the Spring. We got a few together last month in Milwaukee for a photo shoot.
The book has been gifted to me for my birthday and now has its rightful place on an artsy end table with sculpted vase on the bottom. Thank you! And BTW, the wife now knows ... first question was “WTF is that in the garage?” ??
After the wheels are clean, just use a little basic spray wax (the apply wet, wipe, and dry type - turtle wax or whoever) and it helps keep the dust off and makes cleaning much easier.
Watch the video a few posts up from @climhazzard ... there is some type of reader that sends the tire info to the TPM’s and that’s how the car “learns” the tire. BMW dealer likely has one.
I programmed in the data manually from the iDrive for the winter tires. It will be interesting to see if the TPM sensors on the Pilot Sports hold their data for 5-6 months.
Here is the QR Code from the sidewall on the OE Pilot Sports. We need to see if the peeps running Michelin Alpines for the winter we’re able to engage “auto” recognition. No QR code on my Goodyear Eagle AS.
There are not many choices for AS tires for the rear. Michelin, Continentals and Goodyear Eagles as far as I know. Put the Goodyear’s on the car once we had consistent temps below 45F with a set of black OEM rims. Black rims change the look of the car.
