I don't really understand a few of their choices, and maybe it comes down to part availability
a) Why this BMW transmission if the gears aren't quite right? They even mention in their video they are going to probably use a different BMW trans for different needs.
b) Why not use the factory Z4...
Also wondered the same thing...
Looks like a very easy swap, To be honest i am surprised its taken this long to have a car with a manual. Looks like a swap that could be done in a weekend in the garage.
Its true with tons of products! and then they will leave off a feature on the high end model that was useful on a lower end model (ahem manual transmission maybe?)
I'll believe it when i see it , that's a lot of modification for 12K including parts and labour if they are hacking up the dash as well.
I cant stand this guy from his videos but hey maybe I will be surprised.
It will sell. First Toyota gets them on the streets and gets some exposure with the 6 cyl. More people want them and can justify 40K over 55 and thus the base model 4 cylinder is born..not everyone wants it for the speed. That's when you start to get the regular car buyers that just want a cool...
So are they basically gonna do what they do with the 86. A special colour a few slightly different interior finishes and call it a special edition. I do hope there's a little more to it. Although the car is apparently pretty good as is.
