Active sound design. Plays a low frequency noise through the speakers as engine noise
It's shit and sounds way better turned off.
Zero side affects. Engine and gearchanges sound cleaner, as does the stereo
You are correct
The gear speed will affect torque, not to mention heat load. This all effects the losses from engine to wheels. Yes, it becomes less dramatic, but it's a function of power, not an offset.
It's not like when Toyota unveiled the all-new Supra in 1986 with the 7MGE, and a year later in 87, released the 7MGTE
Hell, even the MA61 power output increased year-on-year... only the A80 didn't - and it was born from a 90s golden-era where Japanese manufacturers could release everything...
I have a properly done up A80 turbo, A60 turbo and an A70 turbo, as well as an A90.
I've owned them all from stock, and modified them all with new parts, not second hand pleb bin specials.
and, I've tracked them all (not A90 yet, and not stupid drag strip - actual circuit work). The A90 feels...
To develop the A90 in-house the first time would have meant a longer development time, meaning the car would have been released in a different emissions (both external and internal to Toyota) requirements time, meaning the car would have been vastly different and most likely not a turbo 6. It...
All of these firsts are a subject of the times, not the lineage.
Had they had this tech in 1978, the MA45 Supra would have had all of these (except the lack of rear seats)
I would still much prefer a BMW I6 than a Toyota V6. V6 sound like arse.\
You have the remember the GTR was a modified skyline for many many many years.
Plus the Supra has (in all markets since hte A70) had various trim levels - it just so happened they were all sixes.
The current emissions laws will not allow a decent-output NA six, hence the turbo four. You just...
Nail - Head
These guys have been at the forefront of sports car testing for years
To compare them to decrepit white boys who still wear jeans and trainers is criminal.
