Had a turbo before, 20 years. Made sure the car idled for a short while before turning it off, if I had been pushing it and it lasted a long time. I like looking at the engine anyway. :^)
If I run it in sport mode, I turn that off a couple of miles from home.
I always do. Heat is our enemy in this case. I also live in Tucson with fairly hot days but then much of the US is getting just as hot as here.
Odd, I just realized, my fan doesn't run after I turn off the engine. Some here have their fan continue to run for a while?
Yes, I have done my own changes as well. but only have about 4700 miles on mine and bought it a year ago, Jan. I don't get it. They raved about how tunable it was, how it could take some modifications and then they lock it. Has there been an official or know reason of why?
I was in Nevada much of the time but also AZ and it wasn't the sensor, it was dust that got by the filter and to the engine. All you have to do is hold a filter up. You can see through it small open areas everywhere. This was on several K&N filters and one that the mechanic showed me.
It matters because I would hate to see it happen to someone else, though it has and I am giving a warning here from actual experience. I have also rebuilt engines but when the engine got bad, I was not somewhere, where I could work on it (I was doing travel nursing). The mechanic ran a few...
Why would I post something that isn't true? Look at my past posts. I don't do that. I am talking from experience. There was a lot of fine particles past the filter and yes, it caused excessive wear. So you are saying no filter is needed or just a simple mesh with oil on it? Sorry, but if you...
I would never, ever use that filter. I did on a turbo and why do you think it gets more boost? Sure, it passes more air and dirt! I ruined my engine and had to get a replacement. I contacted K&N and they were of and would be no help. The mechanic I used, who had a big shop, showed me the damage...
I wondered about selling, mainly because it is frustrating with rocks from truck tires etc., and parking lots. But I really enjoy and like the car. I have an FJ Cruiser that get most of the use. And with sliders on the side, if someone slams their door open, they get a slider dinging it an my FJ...
Heated steering wheel? Seriously? I lived in Alaska and went through 55 below zero and still never felt a need for a heated steering wheel. Didn't even have a heated seat (FJ Cruiser).
Odd, I tried that over and over. Have the car off, seatbelt on or off, pushed the start rapidly 3 times to get into diagnostic and everything show up then the trip meter and release and press it again but I am in regular mode then.
I got support for the strut towers in the front of my 2020 and noticed a bit of difference, which I like. Any real notice on replacing the bar behind the seats?
