I used to have a similar problem when changing the brake light switch in my 68 Corvette. Contorting my back was not a big problem when I was in my 20s, but after 40, I started removing the front seat.

The dealership that replaced the seal kept my car for one day. They had an Uber driver pick me up within 15 minutes and take me home. The service advisor made sure not to have my car washed, since he, himself has a car with PPF.

Home Depot has a "Rodent repellent" spray. I use it where my AC wires enter the side of the house - a previous pathway for mice to build a nest.
