Went 2 wheels off track over the weekend. That seemed to have caused some of the under body paneling to pop off. Upon further inspection, it was actually caused by the body shop doing body shop things. So I pulled it all apart and put it together the correct way. This shouldnt happen again...
If you have never done it before, a bone stock car is the best way to start. Once you get more into it, a good set of tires, brake pads and brake fluid is all you need to have a good time.
Check out Speedventures.com for some of the local events coming up.
we have real race tracks everywhere. Just did chuckwalla over the weekend which is a bit past Palm Springs. Buttonwillow and willow springs near Bakersfield. Headed to the Vegas track in 2.5 weeks. Let’s get you to learn how to turn that steering wheel! Haha.
ohh that was you! Didn’t know haha.
Tires will make a huge difference. Feel free to ride along with me next time or I can ride with you for some pointers.
Yep thats where I got them. 4" on the track decals and 8" for the numbers. Be warned, they take forever to ship. I think it was 5 weeks total to get mine.
From what I heard, the mt cars get the better stuff. So bigger rear brakes. They all get the same fronts. Stock rotors are just fine for track duty. No need to upgrade those. Just get better pads and fluid.
I have had my whiteline sway in for over 2 years and 10k miles. Had my front suspension all apart a little over a month ago and the bushings were still fine and the bar rotated as it should. No issues here.
edit - just wanted to add, when I added poly bushings to my jeeps sway and motor mounts...
