There’s also suspension frequency and learning how to read shock dynos.

basically you’ll go down a never ending black hole. At the end of the day, you need something that just feels good to you. Ask 10 different drivers and you’ll...
Appears that “off the shelf” Penskes are available for the GR Supra platform in multiple configurations , single, double, remotes, etc.
I contacted Penske about these and they said you can buy them directly from Louis Gigliotti Racing.
Has anyone tried these Recaro seat rails? It appears they’re for the Japanese market, so there’s not a lot of information about them. Are they plug and play...
I also have a sim rig with load cell and prefer the stiffer pedal and using muscle memory to modulate the pedal. Just like a real race car.
unfortunately street cars will never achieve this feel since they’re meant to be comfortable. I believe the entire pedal box is replaced on gt4 cars, which...
It sounds more like you need street tires. Go with pilot 4s.
If you find yourself wanting to be competitive in Autox, then dedicated RE71RS tires. There’s a reason why pretty much everyone uses that tire.
lol i'm really not sure why you get so sensitive if someone chooses to run oil that was recommended by the manufacturer. obviously "it doesnt matter at the end of the day". pump 87 because "it doesnt matter at the end of the day". the ecu will just re-learn all the timing based on knock sensors...
lol wow you exposed the lubricant industry. So oil certifications don’t really matter. The millions of dollars that go into lubricant research is all just a scam. So the only thing that matters is the oil weight.
please don’t make blatant statements. It really shows your ignorance.
lol I’m not the one claiming something is C5 certified when it’s not.
I’m simply pointing out what is certified and what isn’t. It’s pretty black and white.
It doesn’t explain why the bottle doesn’t label it as C5 certified. If it’s truly certified, you can be damn sure they’ll slap the label on it.
There are nuances between certified and claiming it meets C5 specs. You’ll see this when you start digging into the product speciations of each oil.
@Kujiwara
i think we've already settled that you can put almost any type of off the shelf oil and nothing is going to happen to your engine. oil viscosity at room temperature is more viscous than oil at operating temperature. don't see any engines blowing up because of that.
BMWLL17FE+/C5 oils...
i think you're confusing the various 0w20 SKUs. the product sheet link doesn't even link to the correct 0w20 SKU.

LL IV isn't the same as normal edge 0w20. the only thing that matters is...
my mistake. @jchadwell seems to think this castrol ll17fe+ oil is widely available.

unless his definition of widely available is paying almost 2x markup on this oil from a random third party vendor, then we...
Suggested retail pricing of that oil isn’t $50. Clearly the vendor is gouging due to the limited availability of this specific oil. I wouldn’t say this oil is widely available by that definition.
Reminder this isn’t a debate of what oil we should use. Just clearing some confusion on what is...
The picture of the bottle doesn’t say C5 unless I’m just not seeing it.
link me to Castrol site that shows Castrol edge is C5 certified because I’m not finding it.

that Castrol one in particular goes in and out of stock pretty quickly at Walmart. I’ve purchased a few before from Walmart.
this isn’t an oil debate. It’s simply someone wanting to follow their owners manual.
there aren’t that many options for oil with the bmw LL17FE+ certification. Off the...
Those aren’t the same as the Castrol Euro C5/BMW LL17FE+ oil.
Thats like saying all 0w20 oil are the same because it has the same viscosity index.
Obviously nothing will happen to the engine as long as you put some kind of engine oil in your engine but this topic is referencing factory...
