I think you mean the temp sensor, not 02 sensor.

It's less about the ambient temp delta and more about the heat shedding ability of the mani-cooler and/or meth/water spray. Charge temp before throttle - IAT = heat shedding. Of course, if you are using meth/water spray as well, you need to inject it after the charge pipe temp sensor in order...

Lower IAT is lower IAT. Not a waste of time at all. Even with an upgraded mani-cooler, it makes a difference.
