Just due to the fact that the A90 was designed and intended to be modified with aftermarket support and the fact that it is a solid driver’s car platform... and because it is so popular... I think it has a very good chance. We’ll see soon enough if that happens for this generation.
The MKIV TT...
It's lacking a manual transmission option, chiefly :D
Other than that I never expected this car to have many interior color options. The LE accents are kind of odd IMO. The full black interior on the GR's I expected. I believe the only other interior option the A80 saw was a tan on black...
^^ Who here is saying the MKIV TT sucks? The car is a great performance platform with great looks and has been for a very long time. For my part I happen to like the A90 also in its own right as a platform and as a great looking car and want to see what it can be made to do and what other...
If I had misunderstood your meaning then I apologize. I didn't mean to suggest you felt the A80 was ugly.
If we're speaking about how a new sportscar's prior era predecessor has aged in comparison then I think it makes it a little easier.
The FT-1 was a stunning concept. Its influence on the...
Every time I look at an MKIV I really love it. I did not say "true... it looks outdated". If regulations would allow it I'd be happy with that design brand new in 2019. That's not going to happen for obvious reasons and we have an also beautiful A90 now.
To say that my comment about...
I don't think the MKIV looks outdated next to it at all. It's just a different design language. It's a little bit cleaner, really. Still beautiful.
The MKV also looks really good next to it. It did take seeing a couple of them up close to fully appreciate the new visual design.
"Dated"...
100%. Just getting another engine system swapped in isn't the same thing as getting every little detail, electrical quirk, all CANBUS messages talking correctly, little custom logic board controllers for various functions talking to the OEM chassis hardware correctly including the modern...
^^ You know... I love my 2JZ daily car. It's not making 1,000whp but it's brilliant. It's hard not to love any car that has a boosted JZ engine swapped into it.
That having been said it seems kind of like a waste to just rip out the B58C in his MKV before its even been broken in JUST because...
^^ This. Besides the contraction of the sportscar market overall and the estimated $100k or so cost for an in-house Supra the specter of much more stringent upcoming regulations would make a powerful and tuneable Toyota-only RWD Inline-six turbo non-hybrid and minimally safety assisted Supra...
^^ Agree. I've been able to spend some time studying two LE's up close at my local dealer and this really does ring true. Yes, you think about the wheelbase a bit but when you start walking around it the proportions make sense. And it is wide. It gives a strong sense of being grounded and...
I finally saw one over the last couple of days. An LE currently still in the hands of the local dealer. It really is true what has been said that it is better experienced in person than in pictures. Very beautiful design.
imoj1, not specific to any parts but if this helps to give you some ideas in terms of scope, here's a very good restoration thread for a 1994 MKIV Twin Turbo Automatic:

^^ Backing up everything everyone already suggested above.
Supraforums especially and also ebay (if you're lucky) and whatever other online forums have an active network of MKIV Supra enthusiast owners. SF maintains a list of known discontinued 1993-2002 MKIV parts. Some random cosmetic parts...
My concern is that I hope this does nothing to threaten the continued sale of the current generation (and future) Mazda Miata. They really got it right with this one and I hope it remains a good seller within its market.
In Florida generally there are few true technical roads, this being mostly flatland and of geographical area of very mild and gradual elevation changes.
Though there are a few such roads they are very short drives interspersed with the main boring roads.
Out here I would say the major highway...
Whenever I’m in L.A./socal I never pass up taking Mulholland Drive and when time permits, Latigo Canyon as well.
^^ Seconding kona61’s recommendation of the Angeles Crest Highway as well.
Also the road up through the area where Newcomb’s Ranch (diner/eatery) is. Always a fun drive.
Thank you for the update, Performance! And your disclaimer above is noted. Still, I would be perfectly happy if Toyota were to bend their standards just a bit for the manual gearbox such that a Tremec Magnum or TR6060 OEM variant could be adapted for production.
They were allowed to...
He really wants us to evaluate the Supra's ZF8 transmission before continuing to demand a 3.0 manual version.
The other day I got behind the wheel of a 2014 Corvette ZR1 which had the automatic option with paddle shifters. It's an amazing and effortlessly powerful version of the C7, however as...
