This is exactly what I said, salesmen do not get to call sales prices, thats why whenever you negotiate or try to they always have to go check with a sales manager or the GM.
I’m not sure how your sales guy can guarantee you pay msrp for a vehicle that isn’t officially released yet and has almost always had sticker prices well above the msrp at every dealership everywhere in the country especially without him being the owner or gm of the dealership. I mean if he can...
Supposedly it’s not TOO bad. My original thread had someone who did it himself over a weekend. Its mainly having the correct tools to lock your timing in place before you remove it.
It’s really not that bad the windshield shroud and everything is fairly simple. It took me 20 min or so first time when I switched my actuators. Ideally you don’t NEED to remove it to swap them but it gives you considerably more space
I’m running 0W-20 factory spec. I’m stock for now and was chasing a vanos code that I thought might relate to the thicker oil causing issues but it’s seeming like a vanos central bolt replacement so once that happens I might go to a heavier oil
That’s the clamped code. Hmmm are you having any odd idle issues?
the easier way to diagnose if it is the actuators is swap the exhaust and intake actuators on the backside of the motor it’s a quick process and if the code moves to the intake cam then it’s the actuator but more than likely it’s...
Interesting, that I wasn’t aware of. I wonder what shopping times for replacement engines are from Europe if they don’t have them state side. A local a91 to me is having an engine replacement because of this issue
The aspect of this I’m curious about is if you had a 2020 that somehow had oil consumption issues (albeit it seemingly non existent) IF you managed to get them to replace your engine so they swap it to a 6 port engine? I can’t imagine Toyota would really have spare 2 ports any longer
I spoke to twistedtuning and this was the same issue I was having on my car which I posted a thread about awhile back. My car is currently at the dealership getting it repaired under warranty but more then likely it is the vanos central bolt.
you can replace the actuators as a preemptive check...
Also if you’re using the ethanol blend are you sure you’re not tuned back to 91 or 93? Or even vice versa if it’s tuned on pump and you added e50
