Now, I'm not really a fan of the MKV interior, but they definitely don't look the same. The only things I can really see that's exactly the same are the headlight control panel, and the door handles/switches. Other than that, it's pretty different. Not good IMO, but certainly different.
Honestly tho, this looks so much better than the Z4 lmao. I bet the Bimmer boys are really kicking themselves now hahaha. Still, coupe over convertible anyday for me. The roof on the MKV is really cool.
I'm not totally sure about the UK, but I'm guessing July to August for the US is when dealers will start seeing allocations come in. Launch Edition cars will likely be June to July, but I'm not sure how many will be available for test driving.
It might still be there, I'll text some Toyota peeps and see. If you're in Dallas, the Toyota HQ lobby is open, so if it's there, just go check it out.
Yeah stock MKIVs are an absolute mess to launch, the squat is hilarious on stock suspension. I never managed to get anything like 4.6 (just using phone gps based tracking) but 5.0s are repeatable. I'm not a racing driver of course, but despite that the MKV should be easier to be consistent with...
Not defending the lack of manual or weight but I did want to mention, this chassis is going to absolutely crush the 86 in terms of rigidity. Just looking at it up close, there are so many extra braces and supports built into the unibody. Plus when you pop the trunk, there's miles of sheetmetal...
There are two interviews with Tada-san in this thread. One is video, the other is written.

The actual hardware of the ECU and various body controls is BMW, and Toyota did their own mapping/tuning to get the car to where they wanted. BMW would have given Toyota whatever tools and software were necessary to do so. This is was done specifically because BMW's proprietary encryption on...
While the B58 is wayyyy better than the old N54/N55, there is no way it'll match to 2JZ standards as far as both durability and reliability are concerned. JZs were dead simple compared to motors nowadays, and the more complex things get, the more points of failure there are. I'm interested to...
As mentioned in other threads, the B58 is a clean slate redesign over the previous N-Series motor. Toyota has been working with BMW since 2012 on this project and has spent considerable money and time breaking down powertrain components and sending them back to Toyota R&D facilities in Japan for...
Jesus man, there's so much incorrect stuff in this article. I don't understand how Jalopnik continues to write article after article without bothering to fact-check.
If it is indeed true that the horsepower limitation on the US-Spec Supra is largely due to the Exhaust Particulate Filter, then that means that a downpipe is really going to wake this car up.
Generally, Exhaust Particulate Filters sit right after the turbo exhaust housing, right in the...
That is correct, but for whatever reason, the tire on the Supra is the "Pilot Super Sport ⭐️", not the PS4S. I am interested in seeing what the difference between the two tires is though.
