Increased weight purely from the transmission? That doesn't sound right... planetary arrangements and TC are usually rather heavy (not DCT heavy) but heavier than a good old manual.
I haven't driven an A90. Keeping in mind US prices are the lowest of any market... in Au, the base supra is $83,000 AUD. The premium is $93,000.
If a MT was available, I'd prefer it.
BUT
I couldn't afford a premium model new. Barely a base.
If MT was on premium, I'd have to wait until used.
No flex sensor standard, but I know there's plug-in kits for them for the B58 in BMW systems.
I'm curious to see if the fuel lines and pumps will support ethanol without upgrading to stainless/PTFE.

it's very un-mercedes - it's very good. Ratio is 13:1, nice weighting, very good feedback. communicates a lot through the wheel - I'd say far better than any supra (A60/A70/A80). probably on par with Renault Megane RS265.... but less jittery due to tyres/suspension tune.
