We hate the dealerships, so I guess it's fair in the long run. :dunno:
The last two items are complete bullshit, and great examples of why the dealerships just suck.
I wish I could cite a good source for this, but if I remember correctly 30K service is a brake fluid change and an engine oil...
Track weapon indeed! It was a real treat seeing you at speed from the scoring tower.
Everything is clean af on your car. Seeing all of the Verus aero and the Wagner intake on your car was really cool. Makes me want to make some reckless spending decisions. ?
I would hope there's a good one in Fairfield or Litchfield County.
If you have a positive experience please let me know.
What warranty work are you looking to have done?
Where are you in CT? I live in the dead middle of the state (Portland).
Avoid Colchester Toyota, Westbrook Toyota, and Middletown Toyota. I have first hand experience with all three and the best bit of advice I can give you is don't let those clowns touch your car.
I wish I could recommend a...
I'll add a better write up and pics of the track day on the 12th at Lime Rock Park, but suffice to say it was incredible! Met up with some great people from the forum and had a great time. The parts and work on the car really came together!
Here's a couple shots I took on my phone:
Time for an update.
Back in March I signed up for an HPDE at Lime Rock Park on May 12th.
I found time to install a few parts, but took some time off from work and dug into the car. I really wanted to get the parts I purchased on the car before the season began.
ETA Side note: the Titan-7...
SCDA does VIR once a year, and ever since that old Top Gear when the gang brought the 458, GT3 RS, and whatever that AMG monster Clarkson was driving to VIR I've wanted to go.
That would be beyond awesome to do a meetup somewhere in the middle!
First and foremost, it was really great to meet @razorlab and @garudathree! I wish I had a little more time to pick your brains, but as it was I learned a lot from both of you and I really appreciate it! I'm sure we could have talked Supras and cars in general for hours. They are both...
Good advice! I used my Motive Power Bleeder and bled them 3 or 4 times, then drove it, got into ABS and bled 3 more times. I used up 3 liters of Castrol SRF.
I'm pretty sure at this point there isn't a single drop of Motul left in the system.
Pedal feels good now. I'm going to bleed...
Cool beans. I've gotten into the ABS quite a few times over the past week and a little today. I've done a number of sequential threshold stops allowing for 10-15 minutes of driving to allow them to cool (I get bored on my way to work). I've caught solid wiffs of brakes several times.
Gonna be an early morning! Track walk by John G (my last instructor, got a sweet Lotus) is at 0700.
This isn't bad for me because after about 0630 or so the roads I have to take are going to be insane with traffic. At 0430 all I have to look out for is deer. ?
I'm still a little nervous about...
So at this point I have completed all modifications to the car except my new 18" squared wheels. It was a lot of work to get these parts installed over the last week to get the car ready for tomorrow.
Some notes:
Paco Motorsports Hubstands are worth every last penny. Great piece of kit. They...
Took a few days off from work (and the forum ?) to work on the Supra. My first track day this season is this Friday at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut.
Maintenance:
Oil service with Liquid Moly 5W-30 Special Tech.
Diff fluid change with Liquid Moly 75W-90 Hypoid GL4/5.
Brake flush with Castrol...
