I like the NSX NA1 and got a chance to swap my Supra for a canyon sprint. It's a nice car for tighter tracks such as Streets of Willow or the canyons of Southern California. My only issues are that it felt and sounded like a Honda; light and hollow sounding. I think they were a good buy when...
The R34 will always be on my bucket lists but since CA laws have hindered that dream and thanks to Motorex, it's not priority.
It'll always be a favorable prize out of the Japanese 90's cars but driving a RHD car in the U.S gets old really quick.
After seeing this video, makes me want to take mine out for a drive. Mine has been sitting in the garage, under a car cover and hooked up to a battery tender for over 3 months.
I believe that's Aron/DotCom's mint Supra. He has had some of the most cherry Supra's (sub 20K miles) and can't believe he sold his RSP. Glad he moved from Dallas to Southern California, same with Doug.
This was the era when Toyota and the rest of the Japanese market was obsessed with engineering. Unfortunately, those engineers have long retired and Toyota's priority for becoming the best has diminished.
You have to dig deeper about the MKIV as the wing was period correct to it's generation. Back in the late 80's, what car was the creme de la creme and Enzo's final project... the Ferrari F40. Pininfarina was inspirational to the design of the Z32 300ZX TT and eventually the JZA80 Supra TT...
Blame the 90's SUV market shift and tree huggers for the death of the JDM Legends. Japan brought their A game.
So you consider this a lower price bracket even though it's priced similar to the previous gen during it's time?
Those are essentially the main ingredients but agree, can't make everyone happy.
Understood. My point is that the Vette kept on going and evolving in a beast of an FR setup.
IMO, this is where the Supra MKV should have been. Not a hater, just being honest.
The 93.5 Premier Edition Supra turbo was in the low 40's. The Supra should have set it's target after the best just like the previous gen did. The MKV, we shall see.
There hasn't been a versus since the C5. My point is that Vette has evolved when the Supra died. Now that the Supra is finally back, this is how Toyota makes a bang.
I think the 9K delta will justify the track version perfectly. 52hp increase along with xxlbs of weight loss and carbon fiber bits could make for an ideal track day weapon.
Didn't forget, it's in a different class. What's the street version? Prius? lol
This C8 is going to be more anticipated then the Supra and I'm not even a Vette fanatic. IMO, I'm more excited to see the outcome of the C8 over the Supra; only because they are doing things in the proper order...
So the track trim is essentially the stripped down Supra and is starting at 61K. If true, that's good news and hopefully there will be less "deleted" stuff w/out the premium aka CSL.
As expected, it looks like the test mules. It looks good but I didn't jump out of my seat like I did when I saw the 991.2 GT3 4.0 being offered in a 6 speed transmission.
