If you thought the MKIII to MKIV comparison debates were entertaining on SF get ready. The MKIV to MKV threads are going to be on a whole different level.
At this point, I'm not classifying it as a failure. It hasn't even been unveiled nor have I got to drive it to fully disclose my opinion on the car. I want to give this car a chance but there are other cars that I would seek over the MKV.
Mind you, I've done the M Track Days at Thermal and...
Sure. Having inside knowledge is always a benefit. I've known (Guff) Ammar since the inception of the FT86, something like 2007 ish; so I know his feedback. I've tried to give Toyota a chance back then when they announced the "AE86 successor" with the same ringleader Tada. Boy was that a...
Yep, this was you before :nixon: lol
There is no doubt that the MKV will be much more refined and a better handling car then the MKIV. It has to or else it'll be a colossal failure. Comparing them is apples and oranges at this point. We've all seen BMW testing it extensively and it's...
200K suspension... chasing F1 cars? lol It's a SR3, a Hayabusa with 4 wheels.

So you're saying this car will handle better then a 26 yr old car with 90's technology?
The moment they even spot a Supra, they'll get a CEL, have oil leaks and then go in limp mode from downshifting to catch up. :D
+1 Majority are bolt ons for that reason. The Z4 and MKV are going to go through that similar wave.
This also brings up the abundance of aftermarket support...
Of course it's going to happen, it's inevitable.
Will it ever get to the situation when the GTR's started making big power and eclipsed Supras at TX2K, then the exotics? I'm going to say doubt it. The MKIV has already locked in her legendary status.
Maybe I'm missing something but I don't...
I never said it was wrong but in true Toyota fashion, it was all about the attention to the details, esp with the last gen Supra. Talking about splitting hairs, Toyota went with hollow fiber for the carpet and single exit exhaust just for weight savings.
I believe that's more BMW/Magna Steyr influence just like the BMW emblem with their 3D round dome. The FT-1 and even the GR Supra have traditional Toyota emblems.
I hear you though. The 3D domed emblems are confirming to most car manufacturers as most market trends tend to do. The Europeans...
It doesn't even get the sporty and exclusive gun metal gray Toyota emblem? It goes with the traditional chrome like the rest of the Toyotas. That's weak.
Thanks for the links. I've started to look more into it when I saw a few ROW 1992 964's that have been imported into the U.S from EU that posted up for sale. Mind you, there were a bit more easier to get CA compliant since they were LHD and those MY were already sold in the U.S back in the...
