Funny, I bought an AWE setup before injen and it fit like shit with pipes lining up like this. The tab under the car was bent and one of the exhaust hangers was way off. Their customer service was sub par as well. Injen bolted up perfect the first time with no issues on both the OEM and AA downpipe.
I actually think I did resolve most of itā¦.I removed the muffler section again and removed the heat shield between the mount and the motor. I also bent the clip (they have their own, you donāt use the OEM one) to gain some height. Seems tolerance is tighter but the rattle is mostly gone! Really...
No but it was a bit louder in sport mode than stock, not a LOT. The comfort mode was near stock levels. The downpipe made it another step louder with more mid range noise.
Not always on this car (saw this on two other platforms), but sometimes the pipes just oval and donāt seal from AWE. You need a high temp RTV or take the pipe off and make sure itās round.
Not sure if this will help, but many of us simply pulled the fuse out for the flap with the stock exhaust for a bit more noise. Could try that? Otherwise yeah, should have shipped with an exhaust valve sim.
When you started the car did it start closed and then cycle open and stay there? Or is the exhaust installed with the valves open? Seems like it should be installed with them closed, but I don't have an fi exhaust. Did you contact the garage? Could also follow up with fi about install procedure!
