Yes he did, but there is still a lot of love for this little thing on places like FT86club and VWvortex. Not to mention in the UK interview Tada said Toyota still wants a 3 sports car line up. I don't think its a bad idea to show Toyota there is still a lot of interest in a sub 86 sports car...

I'm not going to search through all his post, but I do recall A70 saying something like this... we should stop comparing it to the FT1 because the two are technically unrelated, or something a long those lines.
Even if there wasn't a 4 cylinder, there will be a number of people that will still do a 2JZ swap. All Tada is saying, hey here is a cheaper option for you guys.
