Two things to note
- A planetary gearset is inherently strong by design that a spur gear arrangement
- The V160 and T56 are only rated to 450NM
Source: I work in the aftermarket sequential transmission industry. We will aim to deliver the first sequential Transmission kit for the A90 in the world.
"Car world" = 14 year old kids that have never owned or could afford any generation of supra, eat tide pods and like that Jake Paul miscreant
Anyone with half a brain knows you're better off with a RWD turbo chassis for 50K than not.
Look what the 86 did for the competition, even in terms of...
I guess I was one of the only ones who said "fuck yeah" when I heard the supra was going to have a bmw based six (I admit more customised, but let's see)
I've played with a lot of bmw and Benz's over the years - and the odd Porsche - and they're an absolute delight to work on. Plus a good...
That's absurd, given they let wanker "youtubers" crawl over the car.
Get a gimbal mount and say you're with media?
The local au supra club will most likely get an invite to the Launch/track event down here - I'm still chatting to Toyota Australia head office. If you still haven't been able...
People forget that there's more than one generation of supra.
A80 owners aren't as bad in au, I guess because they were far more common.
Still a few knobheads though.
We actually have an A70 owners problem! They're the arrogant ones hahaha
Ah yes, my bad, you got the steel turbos and 550cc injectors. I'm so used to the ceramics and 440s.
I lot of the guys will run single on the 440s, but I don't like to run my inj at over 85% DC...
they pull like a tired donkey tbh :P
FMIC and full exhaust gives you that nice boost creep to about 15psi? I drove mein like that for many years, was fun, not a rocket though
I want to throw all my supras on the corner weight... JZA80 are lighter than people think (plus I've ditched the twins and have lightweight brakes) -and keen to see how much weight i've removed from the A70 and added to the A61
What standard does the US use for measuring mass?
I noticed a massive disparity between Au kerb weight (Which is true dry weight, minimal fluids) for cars like the M2 and M4 (1488kg and 1499kg respectively)
So if we ever get some Au specs, we might be able to discern the mass
BMW press release said it has the integrated manifold.
The pebble beach car had the integrated manifold.
I think the motortrend article is wrong.
The B58B30O1 is a higher spec and a new head, the timing chain arrangement is modified.

Do I want to click that? It looks like someone got Billy Idol and aged him at the same time as making him look like a newborn... and who could do that to our Billy, seriously?
435whp is more than most BPU A80s
To crack more than about 400whp on BPU you're really pushing those turbos well out of their efficiency range, and the standard fuel system will be running well over 90% DC which is not ideal. IT can be done, sure, but not without reliability compromises.
Plus...
Pros:
Looks great.
Focus on handling not straight line drag racing moronic shit
BMW partnership - pure Toyota would have been nice, but I'd rather it share bits with an M3 than a friggin aristo ffs
Two seater
Interior looks nice
Good tuning potential
Electric steering like 86 - best I've driven...
