Very true. Its a one of a kind engine with all the titanium and lightweight stuff. GM did a great job engineering it. Having said that, from a roll, the Supra is just as fast. From a dig it was just sad. Supra was 3 cars ahead instantly and I let him get the jump.
I am honestly tempted to get one of these. The only thing is that it's going to feel extra slow compared to my Cobalt. Like 100 whp less. I don't know if I could get by with that.
Thats about what I figured. I have driven it a few times and wasnt really impressed. Same thing with my dads 2019 ZL1. They just fight for traction and dont move. I put my Evo up against both of them from a dig and it was just sad. But at the same time, my Evo does 0-60 in 2.8-3.0 seconds on...
Quick update on mine. Currently at 4500 miles total on car, 2000 miles on 5w-30. Car burnt 0 oil from 0-2500 miles on the stock water oil. About 1000 miles in on the 5w-30, it started bouncing between half and full. 1500-2000 miles in, it has been stuck at half. I am honestly thinking I filled...
Fwd will always be fwd, no matter the car/technology. It will always be traction limited. My DD is fwd and makes about 325whp. It's worthless. 2nd gear does 75 mph and there is just no traction, ever. 3rd gear is questionable, if you can hang on to the steering wheel. I don't care how much...
18s on the Evo is the opposite of the Supra. They look small on the Supra and big on the Evo. One of these days I will stop being lazy and put my springs on the Supra....
Good luck finding them in stock. I was going to get those instead of the 615s but gave up after waiting 4 months for them...
I ran the Falken 615k+ on my Evo. Got 10k miles, one big track day and somewhere around 150 auto-x laps out of them. They are good in the rain as well. I liked them so much, I now have a set on the Supra. So much better than the stock tires.
@SD_MK Sorry man! Wouldnt have had time to meet up with you anyways. I would say next time I am down there but that 3 hour drive down there (100 miles exactly) was not fun and I am not doing it again any time soon. SoCal traffic sucks!
I was down in @SD_MK hood over the weekend for a bachelors party. Saw so many cool cars out there! I only saw 2 Supras though. One silver, one white, both stock. I left mine at home and drove my beater since I had to park on the streets and dont trust other peoples parking jobs. Been a while...
Safelite was a one stop shop for me. No issues doing the calibration. I told the guy I didnt want him to drive my car and he was good with me taking it out for the calibration. Takes about 2 miles of driving.
Finally quit being lazy and ordered a MAP downpipe from Josh @Meraki Autoworks. I dont really want to get a new exhaust but want the car a bit louder so I hope this ends up being the sound I am looking for.
My brother recently purchased a brand new vehicle (from a dealership) outside of CA and then registered it here. He said it was a pain. Not only does it have to pass smog but you will have to take it to the chp ref to get a vin verification done. That's where the problem is cause the ref is...
Yep thats my normal spot! I do NMCA so you probably won't run into me as the events are nearly impossible to get in. I'm on the wait list for the Oct event. I'll have to keep an eye on the SCCA stuff and see if I can make an event.
