Mine had 9 as well. After PDI, sensor calibration, etc. was up to 21 with my acknowledgement.
I'm no expert, but driving 120 miles in a port seems excessive :)
Unless somehow your car was the guinea pig for many calibration/tuning activities.
I must say I do love the HUD as well. I feel like it could have been position more to the right. There is a setting for height adjustment but not horizontal.. It's very clear even under direct sunlight. Shows speed, Navigation directions, etc. very clear adequate info. With the Speed Limit...
