Hi :) Congratz! Wow it looks like the exact same car I just got too! My door sticker says produced AUG 2022. Is yours a Pro? Mine's the non-Pro.
I just reached 400 miles on it today, loving it, still running it in, not going over 4.5/5k and around 95mph.
How you finding slamming it in reverse...?
Not the most exciting thing I know, but I got some nice heavy duty rubber mats with a custom Japanese flag (yeah I know... I should have asked for the German flag :P).
Thanks - just to be 100% sure, so do you lock it with the keyless system putting your finger on the little handle groove, or using the lock button on the key?
And then, what exactly do you do next, just click the same lock button again right after? Or hold it pressed?
When I do it it seems to...
Hi,
I'm really annoyed. I attached a picture of the instructions from the owners manual and trying to replicate it but it doesn't work and the alarm goes off when I lock it!
Can anyone explain/share how they did this?
I am literally locking the car and then a few seconds afterwards, I'm...
Hi all,
Ok so, for anyone looking to get a '23 manual, I just did shy of 300 miles in it so far, and wanted to share my initial thoughts.
DISCLAIMERS: I am not a pro driver or a particularly "good driver" I would consider myself average.
Let's go by topics:
REV MATCH:
First car I ever had...
Hi - sure let me get back to you on this with some photos next time I go out.
From memory I don't think it has (sadly) but actually made me realize I don't have any pics of my engine bay, and that's a sin.
For anyone interested, here's the sound of a cold start on a 2023 STOCK 3.0 Manual Supra EU/UK whatever spec.
(I put it on YT because the forum kept saying the file wasn't uploading so I gave up).
98 miles on the clock, driven it twice.
No pops and bangs (yet), I am running it in as per...
*Positive Update*
Thanks to all of you who replied - today I went for my 2nd ever drive, hit 100 mileage and 85 mph, had a testarossa cruising behind me on some backroads at sunset, so it felt a little bit like a dream come true.
Regarding reverse gear: it indeed needs to be "dynamic", fast...
Thanks Prado150! Yeah I hope it gets a bit smoother as it breaks in.
To the guy that asked about the shifter position: I gotta be honest, I love this car but some reviewers were right, the center console is high especially if you're tall (6"1') and lower the seat - so it does feel kinda weird...
Thanks mate, that gives me a bit of confidence. How long you had yours, any other oddities about the manual you found? I literally had 1 x 60 mile drive back from the dealer only so totally newbie, but those gears are definitely notchy, and I love the particular torque surge as you start picking...
Thanks for the reply.
I'll ask the dealer for advice too, I jusy hope there isn't something wrong with it.
I'm in UK - it's the "entry level" GR 3.0 MT here they call the premium "Pro".
One insurer told me mine was the 3rd here.
Gonna try different techniques tomorrow and if still feels weird...
Just picked up my MT - love it.
Any Manual owners here can help with reverse gear advice?
When pushing to the left it really doesn't want to go in, and it feels like an un natural amount of force needed to get it in reverse.
Thanks guys.
Yeah I picked it up today, it's amazing.
The gear knob is completely smoothe / with no notches, and I saw in the YT reviews it is a push indeed, but just didn't think it would need pushing that hard!
I also checked the manual but it's only got the Auto in there lol...
Hi,
Anyone else got a '23 manual?
I'd love to hear your thoughts please - I found that putting reverse gear feels extremely odd and needs a LOT of force applied to it, nothing like any other car I drove before.
Does anyone have any advice i.e. does it need to be done a different way / pulled...
