Agreed.
Daily beater aside. Itās a CAR. Granted, itās a fantastic lovely machine with styling and performance well above its pay grade. But still a car.
Itās not a vestal virgin, itās not an SF-90, itās not a Koenigsegg. Itās a $60k Toyota. Drive it and enjoy it.
I donāt understand the āwrap it...
Itās not an āissueā. You likely activated the 1st gear lockout.
In manual mode, at a full stop, foot on brake in 1st gear if you select second gear it will not automatically drop down to first again unless you put it there or switch back to auto mode. 2nd gear becomes the lowest gear it will...
OP⦠youāre about to drop $60k+ on a vehicle. If you donāt know what YOU want and are coming to an Internet forum for advice on what YOU should buy you need to pause, put your wallet away, and rethink things.
This.
We are a means to an end.
All that matters to Toyota is ROS, earnings, shareholders, and stock value.
All you clowns that think Toyota sits around the board room crying about the āenthusiastā are kidding yourselves.
I think this would depend on the individual. My MKV is my only car. But Iām single so for me it has plenty of space. I can get weekly groceries, and a Costco run easily in the hatch. I can even fit my road bike in there (pics of that in another thread).
Just FYI, 1st gear lockout is already there stock. Put it in manual mode, foot on brake at a full stop, put it in 2nd. It will not put itself in 1st gear again no matter how slow you go unless you put it there or shut off/restart.
On the negativeā¦those of us cursed to live in states with personal property tax based on blue book value
ā¦it keeps us paying exorbitant amounts each year. Iām still paying nearly $2k yearly on mine.
