I went from a JB+ on 98RON to a stage 2 MHD OTS tune (also on 98RON) and while the improvement is there, it wasn't really earth shattering. The JB+ recorded 310kw/550nm (with a stock DP) and with a sports cat, it felt even better, and I'd estimate by least 10kw. Rumour is the stage 2 OTS tune...
Firstly, your interpretation of the comments on the CD article are, like theirs, conjecture. How do you know that the lap times were due to the driver change? Like me, you don't. Neither do they, that's why it's c-o-n-j-e-c-t-u-r-e. Secondly, as far as I can recall, there has never been any a/b...
And yet, we still haven't proven objectively, that autospastic is faster, lol. In fact, the only data presented thus far proves quite the opposite. ?‍♂️
I am just upgrading my USB ports in my daily and it got me thinking: Is there a BMW USB-C port that might be a direct replacement for our typically cut price Toyota USB-A port? Surely there's a little USB-C module BMW put in their cars that would drop in?
Has anyone done this or have any leads...
You seem to be insinuating that in an automatic we can all be that good - And there's the rub. Part of the MT charm is knowing that we have to bring our A Game when it comes to gear changes, if we are to be at our best.
Also, advertised numbers aren't gospel, look at BMW/Supra engine power...
Three words: Lightning lap times. ?
Interestingly, despite the above link suggesting the MT is faster (as did another Japanese comparison which I don't have the link to handy), I haven't seen a shred of evidence to support the contention myth that the autospastic is actually faster. ?‍♂️
In any case, this is all Toyota's fault for releasing an automatic sportscar. I wonder how many of you would still be in a Supra if this wasn't the case?
I mean, imagine Toyota were actually brave enough to release the car with a manual transmission only.. you know, like Honda does with their...
It never ceases to amaze me how reasoned responses are responded to with personal attacks.. albeit a rather sheepish one in this case. This doesn't change facts and does nothing to further debate, but go you.
LOL
LOL
Umm.. clutches don't care about traffic if they are used properly... and your short trips to get take-out are likely far more damaging to the engine.
It's OK. Along with your other comments, this just confirms you have never actually been a manual driver. In my twenty years of...
?
12 months on JB+ @ 310kw and 550nm: Zero clutch issues. And yes, I've been running MHD OTS Stage 2 for two months: Zero clutch slippage.
Unfortunately all these autospastic commenters fail to acknowledge that driving a manual properly is a genuine skill: Being able to drive a MT for 5km...
