Even though it doesn't really do what I want - sequential shift lights (without the numeric rev counter displayed) - I'm leaning towards the P3 just for its clean look.
Thanks but I'm still on the fence as to what I want. If I go down that path, I'll be sure to hit you up.
Yeah.. but not with the sequential shift lights, from what I have seen. If I was going to go the steering wheel route, ideally I would want the stock steering wheel all round, with the top third replaced with shift light LEDs.
All the vents in this car are completely non functional - unless maybe you start cutting into the body work. When I first got my car I considered "fixing" them all but quickly realized it was largely a fool's errand.
Thanks! That looks like quite a project. Prefer something a little more off the shelf as I don't have the patience for the coding/hardware anymore.
Struggling to get a straight answer from the folk who make it. Those little red dots - are they an always active shift light or do the dots change...
Yeah.. I'm leaning down that path to be honest but was hoping someone might have found something better/might be able to give me a heads-up on getting to that rev signal.
Yeah I looked into those but as I stated a) the steering wheel is thicker than stock and I don't like that and b) the providence of the core is unknown other than "it's oem." Zero safety certification on such a critical component doesn't sit right with me.
Considering the built in shift lights are slightly less than useless - and don't get me started about the lack of lights in the HUD - has anyone got an aftermarket shift light setup they can recommend? While I do like the light up steering wheels, I am looking at a different solution as I a)...
On the iDrive screen? It can be changed to a predefined BMW screen but as the only way to return to the Supra screen is to revert from a backup, I'm reticent to mess with it. While I'm happy to revert codes manually - I keep a list of every setting I change - I'm just not convinced the...
More coding.
I coded out the completely useless Sport Mode shift lights along with the awful inner rev counter circle and it all looks a lot neater. Honestly, if I could just get a neat shift light solution in or near the HUD, I think the cockpit is complete - or at least as complete as the...
Tidied up Toyota's HUD design.
Since we can't code in a rev counter or rev light into the HUD, I coded it to be as clean as can be. No more speed limit information in the HUD, orange garnish is gone and even cruise control no longer clutters up my view.
Apologies for the potato quality photo.
Maybe your OBDII Adapter doesn't support accessing the Instrument Cluster? From what I understand some adapters aren't able to access certain modules.
I am using an orange MHD Wi-fi adapter and it's great.
As an aside, I was playing around with it last night and discovered how to remove the...
Thanks. I attempted to get the ball rolling with a thread some time ago but take-up was pretty lackluster.

Try AliExpress. Some of it might turn out to be dogshit but I've found most of the stuff is pretty good and its a fraction of the price of the main players.
